That’s a wrap on another year of dancing in NYC!
This year was filled with a ton of ups and downs. I felt like I was plateauing, I was getting more frustrated with each mistake, and the negative self-talk was at an all time high. But, concurrently, I had lovely friends I was dancing next to, had an outlet I could reliably turn to every time something else was stressing me out, and had the privilege of performing live and feeling the rush of nerves before stepping on stage. So this next year, I’m going to:
- Lean into the joy: I dance because it makes me happy, have fun and groove with it
- Give myself more love: thank myself for showing up and breathe through the inevitable self-critique, growth in tiny increments is still growth
- Continue the challenge: try that new instructor, new style, take the risk
Thank you for letting me share this joy 🫶🏽Take this as your sign- do the thing! Take the class! Talk to the person next to you in said class! And if you want to join me at a class, reach out- let’s boogie!
