COVER REVEAL!!!
So so hype to share the face of my second book of 2025 and the first novel I’ll be putting out into the world with my friends at Deep Overstock! The planned launch date is August 2025, but we’ve been talking about potentially moving the date up should the need arise. If we do, you’ll hear about it!!
I’ve always wanted to write a story about Hobbes’ Leviathan, the many bodies that build the body of the state, at once body horror and also an apologia for power. I originally wrote this as a short story in the early pandemic and shared it with friends who universally said it was too short, lol. So I said okay, it’s a novella. And then I found a way to tie it to another obsession of mine, that of Atlantis, and it all came together to be something that feels extremely personal and meaningful to me while also, I believe/hope, makes for a really fun and weird read for anyone who wants an adventure story about the violence and also the flickers of hope to be found in this world we’re all stuck in.
Deep Overstock means a lot to me, as the first place I published my short fiction after college and moving out West, when I was still figuring myself out, and also for being real life friends and comrades at a special point in my life, my time at Powell’s.
If you buy either or both books of mine I’ll be releasing in 2025, I really can’t thank you enough. I hope that this book, in its sadness and body horror and humor, can be a comfort of some kind for people who feel trapped in the belly of the beast.
