We didn’t just plan a race. We designed an experience around your whole health. 🎵🏃🏾♂️
Yesterday we caught up with @YourCaliforniaLife on @ABC10 to talk about why the R&B Running Series was built the way it was music at every kilometer for your mental health, community connection at the finish line, the physical act of running doing what it’s always done for the heart, and mental health providers at the market to address access issues.
This is what it looks like when you design fun culturally specific events around health access and the social determinants of health.

Deeper Cuts Therapy is proud to introduce the Mental Health Impact Awards, a recognition dedicated to accountability, integrity, and honoring those who are truly making a difference in our community.
To make sure we get this right, we assembled a review committee of individuals who bring the insight, care, and commitment this work deserves.
A huge thank you to Charde Vance, A.Philanda Moore III, and Sheree Criner for lending your time and expertise to this process. Your dedication to the community means everything to us.
We are honored by your partnership. 🖤
36 businesses, run clubs, and employee resource groups have already made the R&B Running Series their group activity for Mental Health Awareness Month. Don’t let your organization be the last one in.
Invest in your staff’s mental health. Proceeds go directly toward developing culturally responsive mental health resources and breaking down barriers to care.
Run. Walk. Vibe.

How many of us know people who have been in therapy for years without seeing real change?
That’s why the Deeper Cuts Therapy Journal includes intentional check-ins to help you reflect on whether you’re actually moving toward healing.
Going to therapy alone does not guarantee breakthroughs. This journal helps you stay engaged with the work between sessions and take ownership of your healing journey.
If this resonates with you, we’d love for you to join us. Every contribution helps bring this journal into more hands.
Today we had the pleasure of visiting @kcranews to discuss Deeper Cuts Therapy and the Mental Health Impact Awards.
We created this award because we recognized the many individuals, organizations, and initiatives making a meaningful difference in mental health and community well-being across Sacramento and we wanted to build a platform where those doing this work can be recognized by their community.
If you or someone you know is helping expand access to care and creating stronger pathways toward healing and connection, we invite you to submit a nomination. The application closes tonight at 11:59 PM.
Award recipients will be announced on May 14th during Mental Health Awareness Month.
Thank you to @brandicummings and @kcranews for giving us the platform to share this work.
