The room is filled with names not designed to fit my mouth.

They cluster anxiously, tethered and whispering into apps which filter and sift my bastard tongue. Hieroglyphs of trees and scars, temples and rivers appear on screen and I wish I understood what these machines seem to understand about what it is I am talking about.

Marx flashes on screen and Europe floods Beijing. Nvidia pulses and sings in speculation and somewhere Žižek splutters and swears and yet there really, really, really are no remaining means of production in this class. No proletariat, no reformation, no god-damned Joseph Smith, no ghosts of Thatcher or a smugly demented Reagan. No John Maynard Keynes, no General Motors, no undrinkable waters of Babylon, Lake Michigan, plastic strewn Joshua Tree.
Regina Tang renders and posts a “sad girl” on a bridge. You see, your English is better than you think! Look what you made! The figure stands defiant and small, data probably scraped from Chinese Reddit.
I render images of with 3 eyes, deformed noses. Bars of soap. Loaves of bread. Industrial level mutations. Teratomas. Chernobyl. I want the model to break and want to believe that it still can.
I believe that behind the code there is still poetry and perhaps even a kind of love amidst the horror and loss of it all.
