A project by David Chesworth (Essendon Airport) and Bill McDonald, moving between minimal electronics, post-punk and abstract pop. Joining them is marucoporoporo (Nagoya). Her music drifts between ambient and folk, unfolding through organic layers of sound and minimal structures that evolve continuously over time. This will be her first performance in Kyoto. barch. w/ @deepbluecvc ☕️📖🪑 3.21(Sat) 19:00-24:00 at @arch_bldg 1-3F -entrance 1000yen (inc. 1 drink) 僕たちのみで開催していたbarch.も最近は誰かとご一緒して空間を作りたい気分です。 今回は、当初から親交のあるdeepblueseaさんに古本を持ってきていただきます。 『夜に良い音楽を聴きながらゆっくり本を読んだり談話したり』 こんなシチュエーションにぴったりなコーヒーをメインに提供します。もちろんお酒も。 三連休の中日、入荷日もありますので、 服も見に行きがてら遊びに来てください〜 -deepbluesea コメント📝- arch.で古本を売るとき、どんな本を持っていくか少し考えてみました。 建築やデザインの本を選ぶのは割と普通ですが、服もまた「身体のまわりにある小さな建築」のようなものだと思っています。布の重なりやシルエット、素材の切り替えは、空間の構造や都市のレイヤーとどこか似ています。 今回は、イタリアやドイツの建築・デザイン文化の本や、80〜90年代のグラフィックやカルチャー誌など、少し雑多なラインナップを持っていきます。 こうした本を眺めていると、建築やグラフィックのアイデアが、思いがけないかたちで服のデザインにも現れていることに気づきます。 洋服やアクセサリーを、ファッションではなく「小さな建築」や「都市のプロダクト」として見てみると、また少し違った面白さが見えてくるかもしれません。 そんな視点のヒントになりそうな本を、いくつか持っていきます。

Tokyo Flyers, 2000s–2020s Printed Matter as Cultural Infrastructure This sharing session introduces a personal flyer collection gathered over more than 20 years, mainly from Tokyo’s underground music, art, and club scenes. Rather than approaching flyers as nostalgic design objects, this talk considers them as a form of cultural infrastructure — a medium that once visualized how people gathered, how scenes were formed, and how urban culture circulated before the dominance of social media platforms. Based on an independent, non-institutional practice of collecting and organizing, the session opens a space for discussion on what has been lost, transformed, or made invisible through the digitalization of cultural memory, and asks how contemporary archives might respond to these changes. Profile: Taka Kumazawa is an independent organizer and archivist based in Kyoto, Japan. He runs deepbluesea, a nomadic project focused on printed matter, exhibitions, film screenings, and music events. He has been collecting flyers for over 20 years and is currently developing “Through the Flyer,” an ongoing research and archiving project on urban cultural memory. To register: Link in bio

TOGA TRIANGLE VOL.10 with deepbluesea 『Printed Encounters』 2025年11月29日(土) – 12月30日(火) OPENING RECEPTION：11月29日(土) 17:00–20:00 20年以上にわたり、私がごく個人的に集め続けてきたフライヤーを紹介する展覧会「Printed Encounters」を、TOGA青山店内の TOGA TRIANGLE にて開催します。 オープニング当日の18:00–19:30には、 石黒 景太氏 @10_drink 坂脇 慶氏 @keisakawaki のお二人を迎え、トークイベントを行います。 音楽の現場またはインターネット空間で表現を磨いてきた両氏とともに、ストリート・グラフィックの変遷、その現在地、そしてこれからを読み解く貴重な場となります。 さらに本展の空間設計は、注目の若手作家 清水 琳奈氏 @rinnershigh が担当。 フライヤーという平面を多面的に構成し、イマーシブな体験として立ち上げています。 会期は約1か月。 散歩の途中にでも、ぜひ覗いてみてください。 I’m pleased to present “Printed Encounters,” an exhibition showcasing the flyers I have personally collected over the past twenty years, held at TOGA TRIANGLE inside TOGA Aoyama. On the opening day, Saturday, November 29, from 6:00–7:30 PM, we will host a talk event with Keita Ishiguro and Kei Sakawaki. Together with these two designers—who have honed their visual language across night club scenes and digital spaces—we will explore the evolution of street graphics, their current state, and what lies ahead. The exhibition’s spatial design is led by emerging artist Rinna Shimizu, who transforms the inherently flat medium of flyers into a multi-layered, immersive experience. It was there that I first met Ernesto, Yuko, and Camilo — the true beginning of this journey. Surrounded by black volcanic stone, Anahuacalli felt like a place directly connected to the depths of the earth. Within that slow, sedimented space, the music resonated, striking the rock, dissolving, and rising like dormant magma reawakened as sound. Their work transcends the Eurocentric framework of “experimental music,” carving a Latin American identity while breaking through boundaries. History, land, body, and perception converge, creating a force where rock and sound resonate, shaking the very contours of the world. This concert in Kyoto continues that encounter. Joining them are Kukangendai, a band internationally acclaimed for their sharp interplay of repetition and dissonance; guitarist Kota Yamauchi, who crafts delicate and improvised sonic spaces; and DJ XNI from CDMX who is active in various underground music scenes. We also have Nachiho Toyoda, electronic musicians, whose sound design is characterized by a 3D expression of space. オジアユム個展 「グシャ、愚者」 紙に文章を書いていて、書き間違えたときにグシャグシャと線を引くという行為は誰しもが経験があるはずだ。ある人は恋人への手紙、ある人は転職活動の志望理由書を書いているとき、子供時代であれば教科書にグシャっとした。時に無意識に、時に感情むき出しで。その線と線を乱雑に重ねた紙面は、人の目にはエラーとしてしか認識されず遅かれ早かれゴミ箱へ運ばれる。 オジアユムの「グシャ」には迷いがない。とにかく自由に複雑なコースを辿るジェットコースターのように線を描き続ける。さらに彼の表現は言語を必要としない。 オジの表現にも近いグラフィティの起源は諸説あるが、 多くはニューヨークのヒスパニック系の若者で彼らの綴り違いの名前を壁に落書きしたことから始まったとも言われている。 同じニューヨークの50年代に、言葉が分からぬままBOLEXの16mmカメラを持って、街中を撮り続けたジョナス・メカスの存在も彼らに近いものを感じる。 この言語化できない彼らの行為を見た常識人は彼らを指さしてこういうだろう。 「You fool!」（この愚か者め）と。 言語に頼らざるを得ない私たち、言語を必要としない彼らはどちらが「愚者」なのだろうか。私たちはそんなことをオジアユムの絵を通して考えてみたい。（もちろん言語はなしで） Let’s Get Lost! @oji_ayumu Dates: 5/10 (Sat), 5/11 (Sun), 5/17 (Sat), 5/18 (Sun), 5/24 (Sat), 5/25 (Sun) 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Location: 住所非公開。DMください。Address not open to the public. Please contact via DM. Oji Ayumu solo exhibition “Scribbling, Fool" When writing on paper and making a mistake, everyone has probably experienced the act of scribbling lines haphazardly. Some do it while writing a letter to a lover, others while drafting a resume for a job application, and as children, we might have scribbled on textbooks. Sometimes done unconsciously, other times with raw emotion. The page covered in randomly overlapping lines is seen by others as nothing but errors and eventually ends up in the trash. Oji Ayumu's “Scribbling” has no hesitation. He simply draws lines freely and complexly, like a rollercoaster, continuing to draw endlessly. Furthermore, his expression does not require language. The origins of graffiti, which is similar to Oji's expression, are varied, many trace it back to Hispanic youth in New York who began scribbling their misspelled names on walls. In the same New York of the 1950s, Jonas Mekas, who did not understand the language, carried a BOLEX 16mm camera and continued filming the streets. His actions feel akin to those of the graffiti artists. Upon witnessing their non-verbal actions, a person of conventional wisdom might point at them and say, “You fool!” Which of us—those who need language and those who don't—are the “fools”? We'd like to explore this question through Oji Ayumu's paintings. (Of course, without language.) Let's Get Lost!

She is an artist based in Tokyo whose work is described as folk music that oscillates between warmth and coolness. Since 2021, she has been affiliated with RVNG Intl. based in Brooklyn, and released her fourth album, Hanazono, in collaboration with Guruguru Brain, a label run by members of Kikagaku Moyou. And this April, her new album 'Taba' was released by RVNG Intl.! This tour is being held to commemorate the release of this work. This space will be operated as a citizen's art gallery in my own way. I think people have an image of a citizen's art gallery as being in a shopping mall or a public facility, or as being run by the government. I don't like things that are packaged and things that are done somehow.I am also skeptical of the tourism phenomenon that is exploding in Japan right now. What forces are behind this? The government, large corporations, and advertising agencies. The world in which we live is driven by these. I am starting this space with the desire to make a hole, even if it is only a millimeter, in the daily landscape. In order to protect our daily lives, we need new ideas. We at cvc value small gatherings. Please join us in this new experiment. The first exhibition is a collection of flyers I have been collecting for 20 years I encountered many expressions. I have been greatly influenced by what I have seen and heard here and there. I would like to start by looking at the history of my “outings” or The “underground water vein” that flows throughout the world and discussing with you about the future of this space.
