Hon. Ohene Kwame Frimpong ( OK Frimping ) and Frederick Kumi (Abu Trica ) are both Ghanaians facing legal processes tied to U.S. federal charges, but the public narratives around them differ sharply. According to the U.S. Attorneyâs Office, OK Frimpong is charged in connection with an alleged $215 million hacking scheme affecting 1,000 victims, while Abu Trica is charged over his alleged role in an $8 million romance scam targeting elderly Americans. Both cases involve detention outside Ghana and ongoing extradition proceedings, but the scale and nature of the allegations set them apart.
The way each man lived and worked in Ghana has shaped how people interpret those charges locally. Ok Frimpong is known in for operating companies that employ young people and for philanthropic activities like paying school fees and supporting clinics. Those actions helped build the base that saw him elected as Member of Parliament. Abu Trica, by contrast, built his public image as a socialite and influencer often seen in clubs and associated with visible spending and lavish displays of wealth.
These different public personas influence the level of empathy and sympathy each case receives. With OK Frimpong, the conversation in Ghana often centers on due process and the risk to jobs and community support if the allegations are not sustained. His position as an MP has also meant the Ghanaian government has shown interest in ensuring his return to Ghana to face any proceedings locally. With Abu Trica, the discussion has focused more on the alleged fraud itself, with less of a visible local constituency arguing that the outcome will affect broader livelihoods.
Ultimately, both cases will be resolved through legal process, not public opinion. The charges from the U.S. Attorneyâs Office outline what prosecutors intend to prove, but guilt is only established in court. What differs is how each manâs choices in how he lived and engaged locally have framed the story people tell about him while the process unfolds: one as a figure tied to local employment, public service, and government interest in his return, the other as a figure tied to personal visibility and wealth display.
Just like now the housefly or mosquito keeps bugging you until you kill it. Thatâs how some folks will keep working against you until you finally cut them off.
Fortunately or unfortunately we are the ones who welcome these folks. Even though some of these their actions serves as lessons, it also causes great harm physically, emotionally and psychologically .
How many people will be able overcome these consequences?
The Vidoe demonstrates who âtheirâ actions can make you work against yourself . ( you see how waddle slap en back ? )

Iâm just a regular Ghanaian, and like many of you, Iâve been following the news about Hon. Ohene Kwame Frimpong being detained in the Netherlands. The reports say itâs linked to FBI investigations and allegations of financial crimes. If those things are true, then the law should take its course â nobody is above it.
But I also canât ignore what I know about the man from home.
In Asante Akim North, Iâve seen how his companies have employed a lot of our young people. In a time when jobs are hard to come by, thatâs not small. Iâve also heard stories from families whoâve gotten help through his philanthropic work â school fees paid, clinics supported, people given a chance when nobody else would.
Thatâs why this situation worries me. Whether you like him or not, the reality is that hundreds of families depend on the businesses and support heâs built. If the allegations turn out to be false, we risk destroying not just a manâs name, but also the livelihoods tied to his work.
Iâm not saying he should be above the law. Iâm saying we should let the process be fair, and not rush to erase the good thatâs been done while we wait for the truth.
Itâs honestly sad to see whatâs happening with Joshua Kojo Anane Boateng, aka âSo Africa.â From the outside, he spent years building a name for himself in Accra â the kind of brand people respected and associated with success.
But now, with these allegations coming out, it feels like heâs been working to ruin everything he built himself. All that effort, all that reputation, and it looks like personal choices are what might bring it down.
Whatâs clear to me is this: the brand he created and the person behind it are two different things. If proven guilty, it might take a toe on his brand since the business woven with his personality .
â Itâs a reminder that no matter how big your brand gets, your character is what really holds it up. â
