Spring Break New Orleans 2026 (by way of Wyoming) Sorry for the delay I was recovering for 2 weeks after spending time with this wild woman, (Christie) in New Orleans over Spring Break. A TIME WAS HAD. Hurricanes by noon, riding the parade float during the St. Patrick's day Parade (we got to throw out beads to all the peoples ). Sophisticated lady drinks, dogs and dive bars, beignets and balconies and everything in n between. Also thank you to Kristin and Danielle for letting me crash your girls weekend! COMING SOON: Pictures from the gorgeous Much Ado About Nothing I'm directing here at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. I'm actually working... not just partying. The kids are wonderful and the production is simply STUNNING to look at😋

Last day in bed finally getting over the Christmas cold I brought home . well worth it to get to hold my brand new neice Bobbi all day long. I had ZERO internet in "taking turns". She is DIVINE! 1) Me and Bobbi about 8 hours in 2) The tree 3) The Batteast Brood old and new 4) Baby Bobbi and her deep suspicion upon arrival 5) The original diva my girl Marley accomplished her first sleepover away from home with me and what felt like every movie on Disney +. There were some tears and a wiggly tooth... but we made it! First Xmas in 4 years (away from the Christmas Carol) and I loved spending it with my girls 🥰😍

I finally got a moment to catch my breath and appropriately praise these women. "House That Will Not Stand" at Western Michigan University was such a beautiful journey. These young women did work far and beyond their years. The community is responing to them in real time and the deserve all the applause, posts, texts, articles. They've accomplished something absolutely stunning and they are back at it today for thier final weekend of shows Thurs- Sunday. I love working with students. I miss being in the classroom.... but I've found a new joy of being in other classrooms with students who aren't mine but who become mine during the process. There is no reward like watching young artists soar. Im convinced that there is no purer transaction on earth than that between a teacher and thier students. And when you are making art with students the rewards are OUTRAGEOUS. THEY'RE BACK AT IT TONIGHT - go see them if you can. I'm with them tonight and every night -in my heart until they close. Kill it YOUTHS.

We open "House That Will Not Stand" tomorrow at Western Michigan and I couldn't be more proud of this incredible cast and crew. Stubborn women, voodoo, political unrest, and razor sharp tongues. I'm so proud of these young actors and designers. I can't wait to share our work.

Sorry for my summer silence (I'm in my peak reclusive era) Here's a picture of me in a new dress I'm protecting my heart ❤️ And enjoying my art Love yourself enough to do what pleases you. Get your foot off your neck Love yourself enough to have enough left over to love others properly That's the work 😘 Ps. I'm aware the world is falling apart. It's terrifying. I'm surviving. My survival is my radical resistance. I have been warning people this was coming since 2016. My joy is my resistance my survival is my revolution.
