'What's your style?' I get asked this frequently. The truth is - I don't have one. That is to say, that as a Design Practice, we are completely led by the Architecture in which our designs sit, and style and aspirations of our clients - both for residential and commercial. That's it. ANY style can be executed well (or poorly!). Our experience shows that by being authentic to (or at least congruent with) the architecture and reflective of our clients we can come as close as possible to the holy grail of 'timeless design'. The images above are from a project I installed nearly 15 years ago. As we try to become more mindful and sustainable in all aspects of consumption, avoiding 'trends' and looking inwards to examine what makes us happy as humans and reflecting that in our interior spaces is one way to reduce over consumption of fads and constant anxiety of needing to 'keep up'. Every project is a collaboration. By avoiding a fixed style, we can truly tell our client’s story, making their space personal and authentic. Happy Friday!

Throwback to our Booterstown project where the ‘middle room’ became the centre piece of the refurbishment and not the forgotten space as often happens. Our clients beautiful hall was littered with shoes. We needed a super practical solution that also added to the elegance of the space. The concept has been signed-off, @velvet_strand_design have generated their ‘shop drawings’ and it will soon go into production. I’m very much looking forward to seeing this come to life. It is certainly not the most exciting piece we’ve designed for this home but it will have a disproportionate impact on how it functions.

A space-planning devotee with more than 30 years of experience between interior and business process design, Dee has left her mark across an impressive range of sectors. Her work spans everything from refining warehouse workflows to crafting luxurious basements in London’s Belgravia, and most recently, transforming homes across the country as RTÉ’s interior Designer on Home Rescue. What drives her is a genuine fascination with people — how they live, what they need, and how design can quietly but powerfully shape their everyday experience. Dee is passionate about the responsibility designers and construction professionals hold in creating environments that truly support the humans who use them. She champions thoughtful collaboration and strong cross-sector communication to achieve meaningful, human-centred design outcomes.
