Holidays can affect a child positively or negatively.
When children are left without guidance, structure, or intentional engagement, a lot can go wrong. Curiosity can lead them into the wrong spaces, online and offline.
What they watch, who they spend time with, and what they consistently do begins to form them⦠quietly but powerfully. The truth is, children donāt just ārestā during holidays, they are still learning, absorbing, and becoming.
Iāve heard of stories of children who watched porn for the first time on a relatives phone, children who were molested by their neighbors or relatives during prolonged idle moments like holidays.
Thatās why our role as parents, teachers, neighbours, and guardians matters even more in this season.

Lyrics excerpt from Min Dunsinās song āMercyā because God has shown me mercy.
So grateful.
Psalms 44:3
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

Happy International Womenās Day to my Dear self and to every other woman!
There is so much about being a woman; so much to discover, so much to harness, and so much to become. I love the gradual unraveling of it all; a journey marked by different times and seasons, by failures and successes, and everything in between. I love that every part of it contributes to the making.
Today, I celebrate my journey of becoming the woman God purposed; whole!
I am grateful for my spirit, which has been an anchor throughout my life;
my mind, which has adapted, grown, and evolved;
and my body, which has carried me through it all.
Cheers to becoming HER;
an incredible journey that never truly ends.ā£ļø
Childrenās Sunday School is not a crĆØche for babysitting or a cinema for entertainment. It is a divinely inspired expression of the Church; a coordinated space where children are intentionally evangelised and discipled alongside their families, yet in a specialised way, among peers, and guided by those called and trained to teach them at their level.
Every Church should have a Children's Sunday School,
and
Every Sunday School Teacher should be equipped.
These slides point out the key factors to consider when building a teaching curriculum for a children's Bible class.
What else is important? Leave it in the comments let's learn.

We had a refreshing time at the CEF FCT, Children Teachers Retreat. I found this placard among the items that were on sale and totally loved it.šš
Grateful for a community of co-workers in this field of souls and for another year to serve.š¤
One of the blessings of Sunday School is the opportunity for children to be deliberately taught the foundational truths of the Christian Faith;
Truths about the Gospel; the message of salvation, God's love, man's fallen nature, the person and work of Jesus Christ, the gift of salvation, the Trinity, the Bible as God's true and living word and many others.
There is also the opportunity of discipleship but this post is about these foundations.
Foundations that have now become debatable because of civilization, exposures, abundance of information and more. It is important that our children know the truth thoroughly and completely as they grow in this world.
I thank God everyday for ministries like Child Evangelism Fellowship that focus their teacher equipping programs on these truths, ensuring that the teachers who partake of the trainings know them, believe them and are able to teach them to children.
Agreeably, this is first the responsibility of parents but the world as we have it necessitates for remedial measures like the Sunday School System. A lot of people have argued about the origin and importance of Sunday School and I'm not even here to debate on that today but I speak as one who has been a product of Sunday School and has been privileged by God to reach children through Sunday School.
Many children sadly do not have the blessing of having parents who intentionally teach them the word of God and many parents struggle to teach their children the word of God in a way they would understand and appreciate.
The Ideal Sunday school is a place where these barriers are broken and how my heart cries for it in every congregation of believers; that there are people burdened and anointed by the Lord to reach out to the children there with the truth of His word.
There is a huge demand for us as Sunday School Teachers as well. We must continue to labour for truth and to remain in this truth because the people God has called us to teach largely have bare hearts to be informed by us. A building has many parts but the foundation is the part upon which everything sits. May we not lay faulty foundations.

Pictorial Excerpts from the Launch of the H2W Expression Centre.šš„³š„³šš¾šš¾šš¾š
We were honoured to have the Camp Commandant of the IDP Camp, International Market, Makurdi, Benue State, alongside a representative of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency, officially open the Centre for the childrenās use.
Through your generous donations and the contributions of members of the H2W Team, we were able to beautifully craft and thoughtfully design the centre to be aesthetically appealing, welcoming and functional for the children.
At present, the Centre is equipped with a variety of activity materials, including handwriting and colouring books, textbooks for English Language, Mathematics, Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning, a few other subjects, as well as storybooks, a television set, and some games.
The Centre is now open, and the children had their very first learning session on the day of the launch, as captured in the pictures.šš¾š„³
We are still in need of additional storybooks, furniture, games, and musical instruments to further support and sharpen other areas of the childrenās growth and development.
The H2W Expression Centre is a sustainability project, and we are calling on professionals from all walks of life to volunteer their time; even as little as one hour a week, to help build and nurture these children. Our contact numbers are provided below, and we would be glad to receive your calls and donations as we continue to bridge the gap between the perceived limitations of these IDPs and the realities of life.
