Another early morning in Boca Grande Pass. Alarm clocks going off way before daylight, loading the boat in the dark, grabbing crabs, checking tackle one last time, and making that run out while most people are still asleep. There’s just something about being out there before sunrise that never gets old. As soon as daylight starts breaking, it’s game on. We’ve been targeting tarpon from before the sun comes up all the way into midday, and some days the action just doesn’t stop. One drift you’re marking fish stacked up everywhere, next drift someone’s bowed up getting dumped on. Lines screaming, tarpon jumping everywhere, total chaos in the best way possible. A lot of people see videos of Boca Grande tarpon fishing and think it looks easy until they actually experience it. Reading tides, current, drift angles, crab placement, and boat positioning all matter. One small mistake can completely change a drift, and that’s part of what makes this place so special. What’s crazy is this fishery has been bringing people together for generations. Tarpon fishing in Boca Grande goes back well over 100 years, with anglers traveling here since the late 1800s for a chance at catching one of these giant fish. Over time it became one of the most legendary tarpon fisheries in the world, and once you experience it, you understand why. The boats, tackle, and electronics may have changed, but the migration is still the same. Every year giant schools of tarpon move through the pass, and when the tides line up right, there really isn’t another place like it.

Jen Camber Pietraniec may not be crazy about me posting this but I thought it was cute. I had a song made for her for our anniversary and figured I’d share the video of her hearing it for the first time. 😍

Cheers to Thirty Years! Let’s do it all over again. 😍 (Just for the record I think a few of these pics compare to holding up a fish)

Tarpon season 2025 was one for the books! Having clean water again was definitely a contributing factor, as it seemed that our migration was heavier than the previous couple of years, and a lot of fish stuck around the Bay Area late into the year. I expect that this year will be even more productive! We’ve always teased about jumping 1,000 fish in a year, and some years we’ve come close. I think this year may be the one!Whether you’re looking to catch a bunch of them, or just that giant fish of a lifetime, @owen.mathis and I will get you hooked up on them! I’d really like to thank several people for their help, allowing us to do what we do best. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to stay on the tarpon all season long! My wife, @smsparks89 , for putting up with the long hours and me falling asleep at the dinner table mid sentence and all the support at home. @choosing_greatness and @owen.mathis for all of their help on board, doing whatever it takes to make sure our clients get the best experience out of their fishing trip. @bettsfishingcenter @minnkotaatbetts and @jessewright_ @anthonyderosa00 for making sure all my trolling motor, rods and tackle are all in working order. @calcuttaboats for making the most versatile, and comfortable 26’ boat on the water and keeping me running as I test her limits. This machine just flat out catches tarpon. @fishseaguar for making the best leader material on the planet. Outfishes everything else 5-1, and can turn a 150 pound tarpon on its back. @deckgear for keeping our customers comfortable while they’re putting an absolute whooping on the fish. @fish_shimano_north_america for making the smoothest and most durable reels on the market. @aftcogulf for protecting our hands all season long. By far the best gloves on the market. Best of luck to everyone in 2026, and we’ll see you on the water! #allactioncharters #inshoreactioncharters #stpetersburg #epic #fishinglife #fishingcharters #fishing #tarpon #saltwater #foryou #bettsfishingcenter #calcuttaboats #fishseaguar #booknow
