Thursday 14/05 is a public holiday in Bavaria (Christi Himmelfahrt). no presale. artwork : @anja.lekavski Decius is the smell of a Friday night in an 80’s Chicago nightclub mixed with the sound of a reverberation from a 70’s New York bathhouse, then squeezed through a broken Brixton filter.   Founded by brothers Liam and Luke May, (Trashmouth Records/Medicine 8), together with Quinn Whalley (Paranoid London/Warmduscher) and Fat White Family frontman Lias Saoudi. Those with an ear to the ground and a nose to the glory hole will know that while Decius is very much nightclub music, its seeds are swollen with punk energy. Using passion and machines to illicit dancefloor s3x faces.   Taking their name from the Roman emperor who ruled from 249AD until 251AD, when he was killed by the Goths in the Battle of Abritus. There’s every chance Decius will meet a similar fate, but in the meantime they’re here to rule the sweatiest rooms, fiddling with knobs and screaming into the abyss as the world burns... On the Blitz floor: Decius Soundsystem bring South London acid and disco to the room. Brothers Liam and Luke May behind Trashmouth Records alongside Paranoid London’s & Warmduscher’s Quinn Whalley and Fat White Family’s Lias Saoudi, trace a route from „70s New York bathhouses to 80s Chicago nightclubs via the Brixton Windmill“, with plenty of Punk attitude. Josh Caffé, DJ, vocalist and activist of British-Ugandan descent, has spent over a decade in London’s house and techno continuum and now curates his own Love Child party at Fabric, but he shines with an even wider range of influences and practices. Much more than just a DJ, he’s a producer, songwriter and singer too, taking cues from Classic Chicago house, UK Acid culture, to 2000s Rap and has collaborated with Quinn Whalley and Alex White of The Fat White Family: come full circle on this lineup! Our residents Muallem & Polygonia join the Blitz floor, while our dear friend Steffi behind the artist-driven Candy Mountain label and studio, rounds out the programme. Blithe & bright grooves tracing House Music’s influence take over the PLUS floor. In the booth: Byron Yeates with a decidedly playful sound is the founder of Radiant Records & co-founder of the La Noche event series alongside sibling artists THC & DHC. He also holds a residency at Berlin’s Refuge Radio. Our good friend Partok, whose LAUNDRETTE party, co-founded with Roi Perez and David Elimelech, has established itself as one of Berlin’s freshest party series and last but not least, the local and vital Radio 80000 core member Leyla adds the finishing touches to the programme.

DECIUS SOUNDSYSTEM! SARAHTONIN! JACK IN THE GREEN! Hastings love for fertility meets its love of a serious rave this coming May Day weekend. Traditionally the time of year where pagans from throughout the land descend upon Hastings to salute the sun, drink and dance to repetitive beats. We like all those things, so once again we throw our hat into the mix with none other then @decius.trax and @sarahtonin.dj in the The Deep End. Decius Soundsystem brings live acid house with a punk ethos. Lias of Fat White Family on vocals with brothers Luke and Liam on the machines. Scary sex music made for public bath houses… That’s our venue?! You could find no better fit than a dark, dank basement, with floor to ceiling tiles and sweat dripping of the walls. Fortunately in Hastings we have exactly that! In the words of Iggy Pop Decius are “A loose amalgam of England’s most troublesome, wayward and wanton musicians.
