This is an early photo of my mother…. one of the most talented and imaginative people I’ve ever known—an artist in every sense of the word. Growing up, she always encouraged me to see the world in a creative way and helped shape me into the artist I am today.
I wanted to share some examples of her landscape paintings. But she was so much more than a painter, she was also a photographer, a fiber artist, and most of all an adventurer! I’ll have to share some of those stories another time!

While many people know me as a commercial photographer, few know that I’m also a fine artist.
I think that being both an artist and a photographer gives me a unique insight into what creatives need from their shots. My goal, as a photographer, is to capture the essence of the work and tell the artist’s story through the photos.
I wanted to share some images as I prepare for an upcoming exhibit of mixed media assemblages. I’m especially excited about this new body of work because it brings together a variety of media that I’ve loved working with over the years—photography, collage, painting, and collected objects. It feels a little like everything coming full circle.
These new pieces will be part of the Field Notes Exhibit this June at the New Hartford Artist’s Guild. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, June 6th from 5–8 PM.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I was lucky enough to visit Babs in her studio today, where she’s creating beautiful Suminagashi prints for her upcoming show. Suminagashi is an ancient Japanese technique that literally means “Black Ink Floating”. Watching the process was so fascinating, I just had to share it!
The show will be at The Hub in Norfolk CT from March 1 - April 26 with the opening reception on Sunday, March 1 from 3 - 5pm.

I always love photographing Heather’s creative process. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at her studio as she developed her latest pieces in oil and cold wax.
In this new body of work, entitled “Shifting Meridian” Heather explores the point where atmosphere meets structure. She explains that the paintings trace a quiet line of orientation through changing light, shifting surfaces, and layered passages.
These works will be part of her solo exhibition at the Norfolk Library from December 7, 2025 - January 6, 2026. With an opening reception on Sunday, December 7 from 4-6pm.
