Personal hate - can’t stand looking at a TV screen especially over a beautiful fireplace and sadly that was the only practical place to put it…couldn’t work anywhere else 🙄
It’s taken so long, playing with different designs and inspo’s but I feel we are finally there. It’s the main focal point in the living room so it has to own its space, proudly.
From day one I wanted to replicate the fireplace I had a Bronte… bring in that rough texture of Stone cladding, recycled hardwood mantle, Jetmaster firebox, and raised hearth. Well I didn’t quite get it all but we are 99% there.
The final finishes slowly emerge… 📺 🔥

I know I’m not alone when I say building or renovating can feel completely overwhelming, it’s such a massive task to take on! 🥴
Then I discovered Bunnings Building Solutions Studio and thought…where the hell has this been hiding?? 🤓
Armed with floor plans & ideas I grabbed my Builder Adam, and we spent time walking through the space looking at everything you need to consider in a build.
The range blew my mind…it covers just about everything you need for kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, cladding and more!
Meeting Sarah and having her expertise alongside Adam, discussing design and the practicalities of installation etc. was incredibly reassuring. Her knowledge is through the roof!
I have put so much thought into this house - it’s designed for longevity, not trend and I want it to be about quality that lasts.
Honestly this place is a game changer - if you’re planning a build or a Reno, this is a great place to start 👍🏻

After retiring from the High Court he remains highly active in public life which includes these delightful talks for the students with former Fortians…
I did have to question “ why me?” as I left Fort St when I was 16, having never completed the HSC or gone to Uni! 🫣
I was also known as Deborah Haylock… my father’s name.
Which all changed when I left school, had a couple of photographs taken, walked into Vivien‘s modelling Agency and walked out a few hours later with a new surname.
Now that’s a funny story 😂

Okay… I’m calling it — this is where it gets exciting… fixtures and fittings.
I’m building a gorgeous little self-contained studio separate from the house — small space, big views…that’s where you can really push the interiors a bit more.
I like walking in with an open mind and being inspired by so many beautiful options.
Once I chose the Milano Verde Terrazzo floor tile…it all fell nicely into place!
It’s the soft green tones (once again) that speak to me. At the end of the day I had my bathroom and kitchenette sorted! Feeling inspired and a little over excited 😜 @beaumont.tiles

UPDATE: It’s been a massive week of action on-site, electrical / plumbing rough-in, carpenters are on fire! Framing timbers really shaping the rooms, roofing rafters in and so exciting to see the @weathertexaus being painted and eaves starting to take shape.
