If children ask a lot of questions, Dr. Jothi will entertain every single one, even when he doesn’t have the answers yet. He’ll make sure he finds them.
It’s wonderful when children show curiosity. You never know, some of them might just end up becoming scientists. 😃
Dr. Jothi’s parents did the same for him when he was a kid. Watch or listen to his full episode on YouTube and Spotify.
We never knew that traces of dinosaurs still live amongst us 🙈 But for Dr. Jothi, dinosaurs were never just science - they were an escape. Growing up surrounded by politics and a world he didn’t want to inherit (other than books), he turned inward, to bones. His own finger first, then chicken bones, then 66 million years back in time.
He explains how when the meteor struck, a few lineages survived and they became every bird we see today. That a palaeontologist can read the characteristics of ancient giants through fossils and the animals alive now is astonishing. But what’s equally astonishing is the kind of person who dedicates their life to finding that out.

What was the one thing you were obsessed with as a kid? For Dr. Jothi, it was bones. First it was his own - he cut his finger just to see for himself - then moved on to chicken bones, until his parents had enough and bought him a model pigeon skeleton. His curiosity lead him to become a paleontologist.

We’re speaking to new guests at a new location, Medan Pasar, where Kuala Lumpur began.
Over two years of interviewing guests, what excites us most is hearing different perspectives on how people move forward in their lives.
What better place to represent that than where people once started their new lives in Kuala Lumpur.
Our first guest is Dr. Jothi - who grew up visiting Kuala Lumpur and riding elephants in Seremban, and decided he wanted to become a scientist after realising he couldn’t be the Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Disney’s Fantasia.
First episode out now on YouTube and Spotify‼️
Ancient Egyptian temples were far from dull; they were meticulously designed, highly symbolic “cosmic machines” that played with geometry, light, and the stars to maintain divine order. They functioned as sacred bridges between the mortal world and the heavens.
Light creeps in through light wells that interact with the sun, while the stars guided the location, direction and alignment of the design. I arrived with a sense of mystery and left in amazement- we humans built this. It’s truly humbling and incredible.
Every time something happens in Lebanon, my heart breaks. If you have ever been, it’s a beautiful land with a deep history and soul. And the people are beautiful, they laugh and live life fully. I’ve been many times, and have many Lebanese friends. I keep telling my Malaysian friends they must visit and I hope to bring them there very soon. ❤️
🌟=Dreams Asia has been a steadfast supporter of Fugee, alongside a network of non-profit organisations across the region. Over the years, their support has helped us grow stronger, expanding our programmes, deepening our impact, and moving us closer to our vision.
Through the Annual Gala Dinner, we’ve had the opportunity to connect with partners and donors, gain a deeper understanding of philanthropy, and learn from the many causes shaping our region.
One message stands out clearly: no one is coming to solve our problems for us. Real change happens when we work together, across borders, communities, and perspectives, to design solutions that truly work.
🔥We’re proud and excited to be part of this growing regional collective. Our founder, Deborah, has also had the honour of serving as MC for the past three years, and she continues to cherish the experience of sharing the stage with scholars from Dreams Campus Singapore.
