Just installed this weekend in La Jolla
This window sits on the non ocean facing side of the home, which made it the right place to bring in something bold. It needed privacy, but it also needed presence.
The starting point was a mix of pieces they’ve collected, the ocean, and Frank Lloyd Wright. Interpreted and distilled into something fully authentic to my work. Bright, saturated, a little unexpected.
I pulled from my archive of glass, using a remaining sheet of older @bullseyeglass for the deeper amber tones. The textures were incredible, so every cut was intentional, working through the sheet and using it fully for this client.
Mixing in different textures of glass from @wissmach_glass and @oceansideglasstile created a final piece that diffuses, holds clarity while creating subtle shifts in tone that build depth. The final design balances structure and play. Rooted in the house, but unmistakably its own.

From the archives 💚
A different approach to a bathroom window treatment, introducing privacy while maintaining light and function.
Rather than replacing the entire unit, this stained glass panel sits just in front of the existing window. A horizontal composition in greens and soft neutrals, using varied textures to shift the light from direct to diffuse throughout the day.
Because it is not permanently installed, it can move with the client or be repositioned within the home over time.

When @launlosangeles shared the treatment for this kitchen window within a larger residential remodel, the leucadendron in my yard immediately came to mind. Saturated greens, softened blush, warm amber. A palette with presence, but composure.
I selected a range of textured glass to build depth through shadow and surface variation across a disciplined grid. Each square carries a distinct finish, so the light fractures softly as it moves, shifting from luminous in the morning to more grounded by late afternoon.
A kitchen window transformed into a composed plane of color embedded directly into the architecture.

A look at new kitchen stained glass panels before delivery and installation.
A restrained gothic study for cabinetry. Textured @wissmach_glass selected for diffusion and atmosphere. Red diamond accents introduce measured drama, while lead lines provide structure without darkening the space.
Designed to keep the kitchen light responsive and open.
Final approval came from the true authority of the house.
Swipe to the last slide to meet him.

An excited client request came in over the holidays. They wanted gifts that felt personal and beautiful for the home and let me run with my idea to create an object de art series of plates, each one different from the next. I worked with the offcuts and scraps of fusible glass I had in the studio.
Focusing on regenerative design and the endless ways that kiln formed glass can breathe new life into what otherwise might be discarded, each one of a kind plate was born.
An exploration of color and form.
Inspired by how these turned out, I’m already working on another round.

UNFOLD artist series// with @debbie.bean
Debbie is creating two stained glass windows for the artist flat at UNFOLD Encinitas. Taking inspiration from nature, she uses colors and a variety of textures to give privacy while also allowing light and beautiful color to pass through. Debbie loves this element of working with light — that glass is not a static medium and the colors will always look different with changing light throughout the day.
She also brought in glass remnants from other projects that she otherwise wouldn’t be able to use, finding ways to give them a new life. She created fused panels, melting the glass remnants in her kiln to make new forms. She created compositions by playing with the pieces’ shapes, mixing and layering colors. These recycled glass elements became art pieces for the project and will be integrated into some woodworking.
Debbie loves the transcendent quality of stained glass — it’s everywhere and there seems to be something about it that we naturally respond to. She loves working with geometric designs that feel universal and hopes that through her practice she can create pieces that are long lasting and brighten a space for those experiencing it. We’re so excited to share Debbie’s work in the artist residency at UNFOLD, so each artist can draw inspiration from it during their time in the space.

Late night in the studio. A first look at a new sculptural work I have been developing over the past year.

✨Site specific stained glass installation looking for its next location. ✨
My Meditation installation consists of three individual stained glass panels housed in a custom metal frame designed for easy installation and transportation. The glass was selected for its directional texture and atmospheric color, creating a slow shift in tone as the light changes throughout the day.
The work adapts naturally to both interior and exterior environments, and I have long envisioned it transforming within a new setting.

An exploration of translation, material, and light.
I approached this commission by reimagining the digital artwork as if its origin lay in glass. That idea opened a new language shaped by material behavior rather than digital illustration. From the outset, my intent was to explore how glass could hold rhythm, atmosphere, and sound.
Every decision emerged from studying what the material could express. I sourced glass from multiple vendors and my personal archives, combining contemporary sheets with vintage stock whose chemistry and tonal range no longer exist. Each piece was chosen for how it carries light: how opacity absorbs color, how texture shifts tone, how layered planes build movement.
Certain passages of the source image suggested fine metallic lines. Instead of depicting them, I built them through copper overlay and wirework, techniques rooted in the logic of stained glass. These structural gestures allow the piece to catch and direct light in ways that belong solely to this medium.
The finished lightbox shifts with illumination. Unlit, it reads as grounded and sculptural. Lit from within, it becomes radiant and kinetic, a study in how material and light can alter perception and space.
