Shopping with clients is all part of the design process. Being able to sit test furniture, touch and fell the textures on wallpaper, area rugs and select tiles and finishes makes the design journey all more engaging for clients and pleasurable.

Sharing one of my favorites spotted at High Point Market. French oil lamps with reflecting mirrors used as wall mounted vases. Little design tip: Smalls can be just as impactful as larger accessories when grouped together.

In a world where antiques and trending, a bit of a modern twist of inspiration was captured here at @214modern where a classic renaissance painting was used as the focal point with a modern travertine dining table paired with 1940s style dining chairs. There’s something inviting about this vignette and the pairing of styles. Not your grandmother’s antiques.

Sharing a special project and just one of our design processes when working with a client. Just a little behind the scenes from concept to creation. The best part is the field trip to the Boston Design Center…stay tuned! Music 🎵 @jamesbyrd976

Returning from High Point Market where the outside world thinks it’s all perfectly polished… Here’s a look at one week back in the real world 😅 Work Hat: • Spring Market at the Boston Design Center • Farm to table dinner at Yale Appliance • SBA Scholarship Committee meeting • Design client meeting Family Hat: • Family hike • Hosted sister’s 50th birthday golf weekend ⛳️🎉 Property Management Hat: • Electrical work at the wood shed bunkhouse • Placed hoses and four watering timers for new hydroseed • Planned exterior drive area at The Clementine House for tractor and storage access • Discovered one property needs a new leach field and septic system 😩 • Listed the never-used 875 lb hot tub on Marketplace • Met with landscapers for irrigation system And now… What will the weekend bring? 😬 Happy Friday 💃

Now that the dust has settled and the travel smoke has cleared, I’m reflecting on what a whirlwind this High Point Market trip has been. Feeling grateful for the friends, opportunities and relationships made over the years through the Interior Design Society, the antique community and showrooms that continually invite us back. Thank you friends for the camaraderie. Thank you High Point Market for creating a place and sense of belonging for the interior design community. See you all in the fall 🤍
