Dutch master climbing ranks, now p3 in the Championship

Two Top Ten Finishes for the De Baets AIT Racing Team in Harfsen During the second round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Harfsen, Torre van Mechgelen and Dex Kooiker of the De Baets AIT Racing team both finished inside the top ten. In time practice, everything came together for Torre. After several fast laps, he secured the third-fastest time, and with the bike set up perfectly, he looked ahead to the motos with confidence. In the first moto, Torre had a good start, but in the first corner he got squeezed and was pushed to the outside, forcing him to begin the race around fifth place. He maintained a strong pace and closed in on the top three. However, when he launched an attack on third place, he crashed, ending his charge forward. Torre then rode a controlled race to the finish, securing seventh place. Dex Kooiker qualified third in his group for the race. Due to a mistake in the early stages, he had to start a comeback from outside the top 20. Riding at a high pace, Kooiker fought his way back up to ninth place. In the 250 class, Vencislav Toshev qualified eleventh in his group. In the first moto, he moved forward through the field, coming from outside the top 30 to finish in the points in seventeenth place. Due to heavy rainfall, the second motos were canceled, meaning the results of the first moto determined the overall standings for the day. De Baets AIT Racing Achieves Success in Arco and Delfzijl De Baets AIT Racing competed on two fronts this weekend, racing in both Italy and the Netherlands. While the EMX classes took place at the MXGP of Trentino in Arco di Trento, Lotte van Drunen delivered a dominant victory in the EMX Women round in Delfzijl. At Arco di Trento, Torre van Mechgelen competed in the EMX125 class. On Saturday, he narrowly qualified for the races by finishing 20th in his qualifying group. The first moto proved difficult, with Van Mechgelen finishing 36th. However, he bounced back strongly in the second moto. With a good start, he held his own on the hard and technical circuit and crossed the finish line in 20th place, earning a hard-fought EMX125 point. Dex Kooiker also lined up behind the gate in Italy and set the 15th fastest time in his group. In the first moto, he started around 13th place before dropping a few positions during the race to finish 17th. In the second moto, Kooiker once again got off to a strong start, completing the opening lap in 15th place. He then worked his way forward and held around 12th position for most of the race. Unfortunately, a mistake in the closing stages dropped him back to 15th at the finish. In the EMX250 class, Vencislav Toshev was unlucky not to qualify after posting the 22nd fastest time in his group. Meanwhile, Lotte van Drunen enjoyed a highly successful weekend in Delfzijl, winning the opening round of the European Women’s Championship. The two-time world champion set the pace immediately on Saturday by posting the fastest time in qualifying and winning the qualifying race. On Sunday, she was once again dominant—leading both motos from start to finish and winning with an impressive margin of around 30 seconds. De Baets AIT Racing Team scores strong points haul in Sardinia The De Baets AIT Racing Team collected valuable points during the MXGP of Sardinia in Riola Sardo. In the MX2 class, Lotte van Drunen once again competed against the men. She recorded 20th place in both the timed practice and the qualifying race. During Sunday’s motos, she managed to improve further with two 18th-place finishes, resulting in 20th overall and 6 World Championship points. In the EMX250 class, Vencislav Toshev had a solid weekend. After setting the 23rd fastest time in practice and finishing 23rd in the first moto, he bounced back strongly in the second moto with an impressive 12th-place finish. This earned him 18th overall. Cole McCullough experienced a difficult weekend. After setting the 28th fastest time in practice, he was unable to finish in either of the motos. Torre van Mechgelen showed good speed with the 10th fastest time in his practice group. However, he encountered technical problems in the first moto and had to retire from the race. In the second moto, he fought back strongly and was rewarded with 15th place, giving him 20th overall and 6 points. Following the race in Riola Sardo, the De Baets AIT Racing Team now shifts its focus to the next event: the MXGP of Trentino in Arco di Trento.
