This week we travelled from Uganda to Rwanda, and we’re returning deeply inspired, humbled, and incredibly grateful for the people we’ve had the privilege to meet across our supply chain 🫶 We spent time with the KCRS women producers group in Kinini and heard their stories, we have been proudly roasting their outstanding coffee since 2022. From Kigali, we travelled through Rwanda’s breathtaking rolling hills to Kinini Village in the Northern Province, where the amazing work of Jacquie Turner has helped transform an entire community. Beginning in 2012 with 663 farmers, the project’s first harvests came in 2016 with a vision rooted in empowerment, dignity, and opportunity, supporting widows and orphans affected by the 1994 genocide, while helping women take control of their futures, finances, and their family. We were warmly welcomed to the washing station by Pheneas and John. Together with Erinestine, they hosted us for a tour and cupping before introducing us to KCRS leaders and members. We shared coffee and conversation - a moment of connection we’ll remember for a long time. Listening to what Kinini means to the community was extremely moving. For them, it means independence, confidence, and hope. Empowering the members to learn, to buy land, to buy cows and balancing their domestic life with meaningful work. Plus, they now don’t have to ask a man for anything! We then visited Sepharine’s farm, met her neighbours and her husband, Xavier, before travelling higher into the mountains to visit a collection station and KCRS member Amna’s impressive farm at over 2,000 MASL with 1,800 coffee trees. The dedication, resilience, and pride we witnessed throughout the day left a lasting impression and was extremely humbling. We’re so grateful to Jacquie, Jack, DR Wakefield and Christian for facilitating the visit. We’d also like to thank everyone who welcomed us so openly and shared their time, experiences, and stories so generously. It was a powerful reminder of the people, partnerships, and purpose behind every cup. ☕️

One week since our Open Day weekend! We welcomed almost 200 of our customers, neighbours, friends, and family to have a coffee on us and experience 101 Brook Street firsthand. With roastery tours, aroma and tasting challenges, cracking food and cake courtesy of Nomad, Pasteis Lisboa and Big Bear Bakery. There was even a chance to roast your own coffee. We can’t wait to welcome even more of you along in what’s going to be a very exciting 2026 for team Dear Green 👀🤩 🎥: @clubhouseparadiso

Have you checked out SHOWCASE #04 yet? 💛 Grown on the volcanic slopes of Costa Rica, this limited edition coffee is our first SHOWCASE of the year. Not only do its incredible flavour notes of cranberry, wine and candied apple make it a standout on the palate, but it’s also a coffee with a rather unique processing method. In our blog, we do a deep dive on the origins of this coffee and those who produce it. Check out the full story of Costa Rica - La Lajas Micromill - Black Diamond Natural (and pick up a bag of your own) via the link in our bio! 🇨🇷☕️

📍Press Bute/Isle of Bute Coffee, 10 Castle Street, Rothesay There are so many reasons to visit Scotland’s wild and beautiful West Coast, and one of the best ones is @press_bute , a cafe and shop based in Rothesay on the Isle of the same name! Founded in 2021 as Bonnie Bling, we visited them last week to celebrate their Press Bute revamp. Housed within the walls of the island’s historic newspaper, The Buteman, Press Bute is a celebration of the building’s past and present. As well as being the home of the Isle of Bute blend (an exclusive Dear Green blend) they’ve also started roasting their own coffee via the @isleofbutecoffee roastery - the island’s first speciality micro-roastery. Next time you’re in the neighbourhood, go and say hello 👋☕️

Dear Green visits Rwanda + Uganda - our first origin trip since 2024! 🇷🇼🇺🇬 Origin trips are such a crucial part of our learning, allowing us to source coffee with purpose. It’s one thing to sample each coffee once it’s been shipped to the roastery, but it’s something entirely different to experience the country from which the coffee comes, to meet and share our passion for coffee with the people who produce it whilst informing us of best practice for maximum benefit to the origins of our supply chain. This week we’re visiting @agri_evolve_uk , a B Corp family run agri partner in the Rwenzori region of Uganda- the home of Bukonzo Dream, naturally processed coffee sourced for us by @omwanicoffee ! We also visited the seedling nursery which we partnered with last year to fund 5000 seedlings to be distributed to farmers, this year we have funded shade trees and will visit the farmers who have benefited in this ongoing project allowing us to give back. Huge thanks to our supply chain partners, Agri Evolve + Omwani, for facilitating this inspiring trip to this wonderfully welcoming community. We’ll be sharing further insights in the coming days and weeks, so keep an eye out for more! 👀🫶
