Peace of Mind, N.Y.C. We collaborated with our friend @dear_stephan and we developed a Peace of Mind editorial illustration rooted in a shared appreciation for the New York lifestyle and narrative. Stephan is a graphic designer and published illustrator based in South Africa. His work draws from the rhythm of urban life, anchored in character-driven storytelling and shaped by the enduring language of New York’s pop culture, music, and sports heritage. We first came across his work on Instagram during the pandemic. What started as an observation grew into a genuine admiration for his work of art that made us to connect with him, particularly his ability to translate the spirit of New York’s jazz era and sports culture into something both timeless and relatable even we are on the other side of the globe. As artists, we’ve always been drawn to work that carries a sense of nostalgia and personality. Stephan’s practice holds that quality with clarity, which made this collaboration feel natural and special. We are truly grateful to Stephan for this opportunity! The piece builds around his signature illustration and composition style, while allowing him to interpret our Peace of Mind concept through his own lens. The artwork will be printed and available soon. More details in the coming weeks.

I typically keep my personal life private, but I felt compelled to share a bit about my journey in the industry. I’ve been in the illustrating industry for about 9 years now. I began my career illustrating with just a PC mouse. Over time, I was fortunate enough to invest in a Wacom tablet, which significantly enhanced my work. This post serves as a tribute to a character I created approximately five years ago using that very mouse.
