"Communication is a basic human need. As someone who supports Laurel, I’m reminded of that every day. Laurel is deafblind and expresses herself using Signing Exact English and some American Sign Language. When something captures her attention, her signing becomes animated, showing exactly how she’s feeling. Communication and connection can be more complex without words. But with the right supports in place, Laurel can explore her community and make her own choices. These supports are critical. That’s why the work we do matters, and it’s only possible because of donors like you. Make your gift today. Thank you, Rebecca". 💛

Bring your loudest cheering voice and your best community spirit. Let’s make some noise for an incredible cause!
Laurel takes pleasure in community outings: browsing thrift shops, swimming at the local leisure centre, pampering days, and exploring garage sales on the first bright days of spring. She loves things that feel official or ceremonial. A person in uniform instantly captures her attention! But moments like these aren’t simple without the right support in place. They require planning, tailored communication, and people who understand how Laurel experiences the world. Because of a generous community of donors, Laurel has every opportunity to do what she most enjoys. Your support means everything.

We even had the chance to hold and try on her medals - a very memorable moment! It was wonderful meeting Erica and her family, and we can’t wait to follow her future golf adventures. ⛳👏
