Obscene wealth commission: this statue as high as materials and space will allow. There’s a secondary smaller commission inside Robarts Library at UofT at the top of the escalator blocking access to the adjoining floors. And the commission is by rapper The Game who has entered his statue sculpting chapter as a soft retirement from hip-hop.

TITLE: BLOODY HURRICANE OF A COMPTON DREAMER
Premise:
I did it. I created my personal 176 track survey of artist, The Game. @losangelesconfidential It’s not a greatest hits — it’s a nerdy deep-dive testament to the horsepower of one emcee’s inner-gas-reserve. This is what I sub before dipping my own feather tip in blood.
Abstract:
Consult my community about Evan,
I reckon they all agree: “Biggest fan of The Game ever”. Murda Game: ultimate poetic warrior and deadliest rapper to do it; unafraid of a suicide mission. Chuck’s catalogue is an unmatched body of complete and intentional ALBUMS. They offer intricate poems through the relatable lens of a hip-hop historian, both beauty and brute. I appreciate the varied colourful and far-reaching collaborations with hip-hop’s notables. I respect that throughout his career, he’s consistently shanked “untouchables” with his pen game. I found it entirely refreshing to hear somebody tell it how it is about Elvis, I mean Marshall.
CONCLUSION: Most significantly, if you’re like me and live, know, practice and honour certain principles and histories of rap … Hurricane Game gives voice to someone who grew up on Wu-Tang.
