Wanted to share the back story on this one too while I’m at it: the first print here is a certain word/title of an event here in sycamore scrambled. The quote above the scramble word is by Nelson Algren and the design is directly inspired by a print I purchased at a print sale at NIU almost 9 years ago. The original print I gifted to someone else but the quote stuck with me all these years. In the original quote and design the word Sycamore said Chicago instead but the concept still rings true. In my version, inside my scrambled letters exists a map to a certain parade route which may or may not hint to the true identity of the words ☺️
I’ve never had more fun or been more proud of a digital artwork than this one. I still have a few of these left as well! DM if you’d like to claim one 💙
The second artwork (the sycamore is a pumpkin town) was me playing around with brushes and text, they make GREAT postcards, I can print more of those if you’re in need of your own copy for the last run of the fall season 🤩

The story behind this one: inspired by @novice_jess i fell in love with her prints while traveling in Dublin, decided to create our very own Sycamore/Pumpkinfest/Fall version. The photo in the middle is a picture of a pumpkin display at the @mortonarb a few years ago while on a field trip with my students, cut into the shape of @city_of_sycamore leaf of course. The first few pictures above are 8x10 custom houses in graphite ($50) or 5x7 ($25). The colored houses and animal portraits are watercolor 5x7’s ($35). The last image above is an in progress custom full value graphite that is 18x24” which are priced by image but start at $100

My AP students taught workshops on what their specialties are today and it made me realize how much I’ve gotten to teach them over the years😊 #proudteachermoment (limited color palette skin tone drama, also the eyes of a teacher first hour in late May, and yes this reference image made me laugh so hard I cried 🙃😆)
Now that Christmas is over I can post the paintings I sold!:) Thank you so much to everyone who purchased my work, this has been by far the most I have created since college.
