Now that their so-called economic paradise promised by their "economic messiah" has failed to materialise, they suddenly don't want to talk about the economy anymore. The same people who once spoke loudly about economic indicators are now pretending stability is not an achievement. Shame!

Some of the recent comparisons involving Cristiano Ronaldo are becoming disrespectful and unnecessary. If Lamine Yamal wins four Spanish league titles, it still has nothing to do with CR7. Not every success in football must be forced into a Ronaldo comparison. We all love Yamal, but let’s allow him to build his own legacy without unnecessary pressure.

Let me say something that might make some of you uncomfortable, and I make no apology for it. I am not defending stealing. I am not asking anyone to ignore wrongdoing. What I am questioning is what we do with people after we catch them and whether social media has turned us into a mob that mistakes humiliation for justice. By now, many of you have seen the video of One Hajia pleading and crying after being caught stealing. It is trending everywhere. Honestly, watching it made me deeply uncomfortable, not because of what she did, but because of what the shop owner did to her. She was pleading for forgiveness. She was at her lowest moment. Instead of handling it with any dignity, either forgiving her privately or handing her over to the Police, she instead picked up a phone and decided the whole world needed to see her shame. That is not justice. Here is the truth many of us do not want to hear. Many people who are caught stealing or committing crimes genuinely change after that moment. The shame of being caught, the fear of punishment,it transforms people. But the video will lives forever on social media. That follows them for life even long after they have changed. Long after, they asked for forgiveness. Long after God himself may have forgiven them.We are stripping people of any chance at redemption and calling it justice. Islam teaches us to cover each other's shame — not broadcast it. Even if you can not find it in your heart to forgive someone, there is a dignified path. Hand them to the authorities. Let the system work. But do not turn someone's worst moment into content. Social media has given all of us a platform. But a platform without conscience is dangerous. The next time you are about to press share on someone's worst moment — pause. Ask yourself one question. If it were you in that video, broken, pleading, ashamed, what would you want? ~De-RoyalSamba. Dear BECE Candidate, Twenty-nine years ago, I sat where you are sitting now, my heart was racing, pen in hand, the weight of what felt like my entire future resting on a few sheets of paper. Today, having journeyed far from that desk, I want to tell you something nobody told me then. This examination does not define you. Yes, give it everything you have today. Write your best, think clearly, and stay calm. But when you walk out of that hall, please carry this truth with you: your destiny is far too vast to be contained in a single result. Some of you will continue into secondary school. Some may not. Some will find your stride in secondary school, others will only begin to soar at university, and many will discover that the classroom was never where your greatest gift was meant to bloom. None of these paths makes you a failure. Every single one of them can lead to a life of meaning, impact, and success. Education and examinations are not finish lines — they are mirrors. They help you look inward and adiscover what you are made of, what you are drawn to, and what the world needs from you specifically. Your talents, your instincts, your character ,those are the real examinations of life, and you sit them every single day. So today, focus. Do your best. Then lift your head and keep walking forward, because who you become is still being written, and today is only the first line. Go in there and give it your all. The room may feel quiet and heavy, but you are not alone, countless people who once sat where you sit today are cheering for you. We made it through, and so will you. Best of luck, and God bless you all. Mohammed Mustapha Samba Regional Communication Officer, NDC
