In honor of our beloved late relative @thetoniburnett a founding member of Día de los Muertos DC and a proud Washingtonian born and raised, we present the official proclamation from @mayor_bowser recognizing Día de los Muertos on November 2, 2024.
Last year, thanks to Toni’s inspiring leadership, we celebrated the day with the support of @oladcgov . This year, with that same strength and spirit she continues to inspire in us, we poured our hearts into writing the proclamation presented by Mayor Bowser. We will continue moving forward to honor her memory and the memory of all our ancestors. If we are all the same in death, we should all be the same in life.
