All I wanted for Christmas...when I was 4 1/2!
In October 1961, we moved from New York to LA because dad got a job with writing partner @perskyb writing for The Steve Allen Show.
That year, Steve's annual Christmas special was taped at Steve and Jayne's house in Encino (I'd never seen more plaid in my life...carpets...sofas...wallpaper...everywhere!)
The families of all the show's staff were part of the show and all the kids got to meet Santa (Steve). In the shots of folks laughing, you'll see some of them including Bill Dana, Louis Nye, and Tom Smothers.
