Feeling so so grateful to everyone involved in making our Illustration Senior Show such a success and an absolutely wonderful time! Thank you to all of you who came to the opening reception, engaged with the work and all the amazing artists showing work in the space! Thank you to our amazing faculty and for all their support and guidance! Thank you to the team at the gallery for installing and curating the work! Breath is made up of a painting, table, a clay coffee cup and ash tray and two sheets of sheet music (composed by the one-of-a-kind @grigbalasanyan and performed by him and my brother @ardonatelle at Carnegie Hall a couple months ago). The installation was dedicated to my brother and all the ways him and his art inspire me, so swipe to read the full statement! I also had a zine and an illustrated poetry book on the book table! All the love and thanks to... @parsons_illustration @amandabonaiuto @norakrug @jordinisip @alertski for the first few pictures & all of you wonderful people who made this so special! 💌

A short little stop motion animated experiment! 🔥 Super quick! Super fun! Lots of paper! And clay I'll continue to use over and over again! If you've been here long enough I'd like to think you know where the whole match-to-center-of-palm thing is coming from. Or at least remember it somewhat! (I'm not a pyromaniac, I swear!) Done using the most makeshift desk setup that involved taping my phone to a ruler. #animation #claymation #stopmotion #experimentalanimation #animator #illustration #stopmotionanimation #replacementanimation

Mommy's Little Abomination (Also known as Tiny Dancer) Put together this little bobblehead baby for a studio project not so long ago. I love them dearly. Playing off of ideas of camp and sincerity and reflecting on my own short-lived dancing days. My awkward little ballerina is trying their hardest. They're doing everything they think they need to be doing. They are trying to embody grace and beauty, lol wrapped up in pink and tulle. It's not their fault their feet are flat and awkward. In their mind they are everything a ballerina should be. And that's what counts. I don't think the photographs do the piece justice. It's just better getting to see it up close. I loved putting this together. Got to use my drill to mount the figure to the base, so that made me happy. Making the tutu was also such a blast. And painting the finger nails with nail polish was silly but necessary. The whole thing. Sparked such joy. Made of polymer clay, yarn, tulle, felt, ribbons, wire, beads, a single spring, acrylic paint, pan pastels and nail polish on a wooden panel base. #sculpture #illustration #acrylic paint #bobblehead #parsonsillustration #dancer

My wonderful brother has a regular gig happening every Sunday, and here’s the poster I made for it! 🎺💌👔 I couldn’t be more proud of and excited for him! New York is lucky to have him here, so come out and grab a drink, sit in, and hear some stellar jazz tunes by some of the brightest cats around! 🐈‍⬛🎶 And a big thank you to @zacvanbellman for being the man who helped put this together. He’ll be holding it down and kicking it with us from behind the bar at @fig19nyc EVERY SUNDAY! What a treat!🍸🥁 (Have been watching a lot of Terry Gilliam recently and really trying to take what I can from his way of making. So I threw Tony’s suit and tie into my scanner and did some silly digital collage and am very pleased with how this turned out! First one is CLEAN and the second one was fast and funky, because you gotta have both!)

Come see my brother @ardonatelle play a jazz trio set at @fig19nyc this Sunday!!! 🎺🎶💌 There are few things I love more than seeing him play, but I love sketching over sheet music, so the one I worked over for this is handwritten by Duke Ellington.

It's that time of the year again, folks! 🐺🥁🚬🍻 Come join us in celebrating the births of Noah Boling and Joelle Bensaid, crush some beers and let your ears soak in some stellar sets by New York's finest and brightest ⭐s! $5 at the door, DJ set until late, nothing but good tunes and good times! Dress code is cartoon character chic. Think Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Red Hot Riding Hood and Cool World! 💅🕺🫦 Poster is a (3D) production, ink on paper with color thrown on later in the digital realm. Most of this was done on a NJT moving train! 🚂

Yet another poster for the one and only Miss Joelle for her regular gig at Old Flings! 🌝👠🍸💌 This was a combination of a page I had already illustrated in ink for my upcoming graphic novel and some illustrated type done specifically for this...because fonts give me headaches! Wow! Shocker! Had so much fun messing around with color and versions for this...as usual...no surprises there! I'm indecisive, and each new thing I craft happens to be my favorite...so these are just that!

Little Tree 🌲🍺🎸 A gouache painting I did of Noah as a quick practice thing what feels like a loooong time ago! Done in one quick sitting, it was one of the pieces I did that got me back into using gouache after getting pneumon*a before the end of my senior year. I love this one and working on it made me very happy!

It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights, it's time to meet the...penguins? That's not quite right...🐧🎻🖍️🐿️🧦💡 Colored pencil and gouache pages for a sample children's book using transparency to reveal something about the story as you go. I don't fully remember what this was about, because it's from 2021, but I'm pretty sure it was about this squirrel named Stick going up the tree and fire escapes of this apartment building and pointing out who people are outside (or more like inside) of what you see from their windows. I wanted it to be really silly and absurd. I love Hitchcock's Rear Window, so that's where this all came from for sure. This was before my sister started playing piano, so she wanted to play violin. So that's her playing her little heart out to a crowd of distinguished tuxedo-ed penguins! So, this one is dedicated to Emmy and the squirrel I named Woody Alvin that would tap on my bedroom window at the same time every day in my old East Village apartment.

...& I will understand you 💌 A sweet little sappy sketchbook piece that took me way too long to color in Photoshop on my laptop using the mouse pad...not fun...might have to do it again...yuck. I've always loved the aesthetics behind Valentine's Day. It's kitschy, it's very obvious about what its intentions are, it has very distinct symbols to go with it, it tackles a big ol' abstract and complex theme and boils it down into visuals...now that's good branding!
