Still reflecting on The Ripple Effect, a short film night for the makers, where daring to believe becomes a ripple that carries us all. I had the privilege of screening my debut short film, Sunday’s Cry.
In Sunday’s Cry we follow Kwesi who awakens from a gripping dream that unearths his inner turmoil, sparking a journey toward reconciliation and spiritual awakening.
We shared the night with incredible filmmakers, @wxrrenm (So Here We Are), @savannahkityo (Bruises) and @__joshuaalexander (Waiting for Taiwo). Crazy to have sold out Genesis Cinema and to have experienced such a powerful room filled with community, storytelling and intention. This is just the beginning. Looking forward to building more narrative work and continuing to create spaces for stories like these to be seen and felt.
Big thank you to @__anjyy__ & @trenicesaddler our amazing hosts for all the support💗💗
Excited to be joining @sxswlondon as an official mentor this June! Looking forward to connecting with the next generation of musicians, producers, business leaders and creatives. See you in Shoreditch!

Súrùlérè was created from a very personal place - A season in my life where I had to learn patience in a real way. To trust timing, even when it didn’t make sense.”
A letter to myself - Nothing was late. I was being prepared.
Súrulérè : Patience is rewarding.
Love to our amazing crew for doing their big one✨
Stills + Video Creative Production for @kilentar
In 2022, I set out to make my first short film. I took the advice of Issa Rae and decided to “write what I know.” With nothing but a script, homemade jollof, and a lot of faith, I somehow pulled together an incredible crew and created something from pure passion.
Life moved on, time passed, and if I’m being honest, I almost gave up on it. I’ve grown so much creatively since then that part of me wondered if this project still deserved to see the light of day.
But after a lot of reminding from loved ones (and a little bullying) from @savannahkityo , I finally finished it a three years later. (No judgement 🫶🏾)
So here it is, sha.
A project full of lessons, growth, and a fair bit of imposter syndrome but also a reminder to just make the thing when you have an idea.
Hopefully this is the beginning of many more🏆
