DC Sketchfest

DC Sketchfest couldn’t do what we do without the help of our fantastic sponsors! @capitalcityco provided our performers with a taste of DC with their own little bottles of Mambo sauce! (Our festival mascot is Mumbie the Mambo Sauce 😎) @whiskeddc gave our performers cookies to help give them a boost on stage and @rightproperbeer gave performers a beer to celebrate their festival show! These goodies and more were included in the festival bags teams got at check in. ✨Thank you for helping us share DC with performers from all across the United States and Canada! ✨

Big thanks to @easytigerdc for hosting our DC Sketchfest 2026 wrap party!🧡 We got to celebrate the festival, the people who made it happen, and our incredible volunteers. From tech ops to ushers to anyone who took out trash, it truly takes a village. Shoutout to @jdunion91 , our DC Sketchfest MVP 🏆 for going above and beyond, helping secure sponsors, jumping in wherever needed, and somehow bringing BOTH Sir Milquetoast Mayonnaise and Mumbie to life. DC Sketchfest wouldn’t be possible without the incredible volunteers who brought it to life. From the folks working tirelessly behind the scenes for months leading up to the fest, to the amazing humans who suited up as our mascot, to the front of house teams greeting audiences, the backstage managers keeping everything running smoothly, and the cleanup crew making sure every space stayed welcoming, we could not have done it without you. This festival runs on your energy, care, and dedication. We’re endlessly grateful for every single one of you who gave your time and talent to make this year’s fest so special. And we want to give an extra shoutout to a few standout volunteers who went above and beyond: Josh, Emily, Sara, Graciela, and Ben. 💛 Thank you for making DC Sketchfest what it is, thank you for saying yes when we asked, thank you for your time and care, just to reiterate: we couldn’t do it without you. 📸Photos by @mfaalasli 📸 Our last show of the festival was the triple threat of @septar_sketch , @dcracletteclub , and @cameron_wyllie ! From a group of eleven visionary fans of Rugrats (1991) and SEPTA public transportation (1963), it’s Septar! Philadelphia’s only sketch comedy undecuple (i.e. having eleven parts or members). Coming from various comedy backgrounds, Septar is excited to bring their mind meld of smart and dumb jokes to the stage. First and foremost, DC Raclette Club is cheesy. Like the savory Swiss cheese from which they are named, they are rich, warm and best enjoyed with laughter. Inspired by acts like Mitchell & Webb, Aunty Donna, and Kids in the Hall, the trio of Andy, Isabelle and Sara bring big characters that celebrate queer identity and joy. Cam Wyllie is Canada’s beloved Sketch Comedy Maniac, with 3 Canadian Comedy Award Nominations, Festival Appearances all over North America, and a bunch of Comedy Awards with made up sounding names.He’s coming in hot with a carefully curated selection of brave, tragic, and gleefully dumb characters who, like him, are just trying to do their best.

📸Photos by @mfaalasli 📸 We were green with envy over this next pairing! Hosted by @carolinecgould , this show block had @avery_sabrina_sketch and @timetokillcomedy filling the stage with laughter! Avery and Sabrina have been performing sketch comedy for over four years. As founding members of the Dallas Comedy Club Sketch Team in 2023, they quickly became known for their on stage chemistry, talent, and dedication. Writers and producers at “”The Daily Show””, “”The Tonight Show””, and more of the best comedians in New York City come together for “Time to Kill: A Sketch Comedy Show!” — with each performance packed with sketches, musical numbers, celebrity impressions, and more!

📸Photos by @mfaalasli 📸 The 8 PM show on Saturday saw the DCSF return of @fanfictiontheater and debut of @funinmoderation ! Lose yourself in wild flights of fancy with sketch comedy about your favorite fictional characters! Fanfiction fan Joanna Harris and her friends bring to the stage stirring tales of love, death, adventure, and friendship involving characters from popular franchises. Fun in Moderation is a New York City-based sketch comedy team comprised of Kendall Bowden, Nick Ryan, Austin Elias-de Jesus, and Syd King. Their shows are an all-night party with sketch comedy, stand-up, and games.

📸Photos by @mfaalasli 📸 Our next show was hosted by @nic_at_nit3 with our killer back of house manager @bethannisfunny ! @badmedicinedc , @theincredibleshrinkingmandj , and @milwaukeesketchcomedy performed some wild on stage antics to a full house! The Bad Medicine Show is a high-energy sketch comedy spectacle that’s equal parts dark, cerebral, and delightfully absurd. It’s the perfect blend of smart and stupid fun from a merry band of DC friends who dive headfirst into the ridiculous. Contrary to their name, Milwaukee! is a beloved, long-running sketch comedy team based in New York City, baby. They’ve been bringing silly, witty, and sometimes frisky, performances to the stage since 2018.You’ve probably seen Milwaukee! performers on Saturday Night Live, Comedy Central, 30 Rock, Inside Amy Schumer, and commercials that definitely convinced you to buy something. The Incredible Shrinking Matt & Jacquie are a Philadelphia based sketch comedy duo consisting of Matt Schmid and Jacquie Baker. The pair met while performing in the Philly Improv Theater house team The Flat Earth. They quickly bonded over a shared goofy yet dark sense of humor and decided to spin off their own side project as a duo.

📸Photos by @mfaalasli 📸 The first show on Saturday at DCSF 26 was a showcase called Etch-A-Sketch! We had six groups perform a sketch on stage to a packed audience, with an epic showdown of Mumbie VS Milquetoast Mayonnaise for the finale. Performing teams included: - Binky + The Pain (@jdunion91 + @bethannisfunny ) - @wicked_smahht_comedy - Haley-McKenna (@eileenhaleycomedy ) - @birdsnestdc - @witifunny - and a video from @joshhighreal ! We loved having these teams join us for the festival and this was the perfect high energy show to kick off our Saturday night 💛

Last Saturday, DC Sketchfest hosted an event designed to give the sketch community a chance to step outside the chaos of the festival, and actually connect over lunch. Teams from across the country gathered, shared stories, and got to meet one another in a more relaxed space. Something that can be hard to find during a packed festival weekend! As an added perk, attendees were treated to a catered pizza lunch generously provided by the @carolinecgould Gould-Learn family, and free team headshots to capture the moment. The headshots were made possible through funds raised by our community events like Mumbievision (a reminder of how much this community shows up for itself!) @mfaalasli is our official festival photographer and he was working hard capturing each team that stopped by for their complimentary photo. We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make it special. Here’s to building even more spaces like this next year 💛

📸Photos by @mfaalasli 📸 The last set of teams went ALL OUT on Night 3 of DCSF 26! We had @itshotdolphin , @horse.show.chi , and @_jackieandallison delivering surreal, high energy showstoppers. Hot. Dolphin. Take it or leave it.*Straight from the Magnet Theater in New York, this show explores the mundane, ridiculous, and frequently surprisingly sexual experiences of everyday life. It’s absurd, it’s hilarious, and frankly, it’s wet. In the dolphin way, not the the other way. For over a year, Horse Show has been churning out high quality, horse themed comedy on a monthly basis. Do you love horses? Hate them? Know what they are? Then Horse Show is for you! Jackie & Allison are a comedy duo made up of comedians Jackie Skinner and Allison Villaseñor. These two best pals travel from opposite sides of the country to perform clown, sketch, and improv together. Jackie and Allison will bring you a show that is so stupid that your brain will think it’s genius, causing you to laugh. Did you catch this Night 3 triple threat?

Queer Window is the nation’s premier LGBTQIA+ sketch team featuring New York’s hottest up-and-coming queer comedians. Cast credits include New York Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, The Onion, Reductress, Insider, UCB Maude Night, McSweeneys, and more! Danielle Steger is a DC-based sketch comedian who has performed at Philly Sketchfest, SketchFest Seattle, and DC Sketchfest. She has also appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Capital Fringe Festival, where she won Best of Fest in 2019 and 2023 with two different comedy shows.

‘Naise it up! Mumbie is the official mascot of DC Sketchfest, based on DC’s official sauce - Mumbo (or Mambo) sauce. It adds the perfect amount of spice to every meal … that’s why its mortal enemy is the bland Sir Milquetoast Mayonnaise🥛, the Man of Mayonnaise. They went head to head this sketchfest season, battling it out for the control of our nation’s (comedy) capital. Don’t worry, Mumbie saved the city and we aren’t going to be forced to live in a bland tasteless world. The fight did culminate in 200+ Mumbo Sauces being born and tossed to the audience, so if you missed this fight, you really missed something amazing.
