Sometimes permission is given to be weird.
This is when music videos are the most fun.
#framegrabtuesday
I’ve been meaning to put up some frames from this music video I did with @revolutionary_jeff for Jay Ratinoff.
Goofy lenses, some vfx, some projection stuff, some other goofy lenses, and a cool color look that Jeff nailed down.
This video is pretty different from a lot of my other work. My favorite work tends to be the stuff that doesn’t quite fit in neatly.

Here are some frames from “Daddy Daughter Drugs,” a short film I did with @mccoymeyer .
This was part of a series of very concise short comedies that I did with them. This one has a flair of mystery to it, so we opted to use longer lenses to give it a very voyeuristic feeling. Love me some telephoto! The Conversation came up often in our discussions prior to shooting.

These are some frames from @hermanosshortfilm .
It’s kind of tricky to use lighting to achieve a look when the entire film is day exterior, so most of my decisions were put into lens choice and composition.
The main lens vocabulary for the film involves wider lens for the close ups and longer lenses for the wides. I like the longer lenses for wides, because the compression of space makes the environment seem larger than life. The wide angle lenses are a bit more energetic in that they exaggerate changes in depth, so they were a big help in adding energy when up close to the actors.
The short is up on YouTube to watch if you search “Hermanos Short Film”.
Some grabs from Fart Couch, directed by @mccoymeyer
Yeah, I shot a short called Fart Couch, you read that right!
I’ve put the link to watch in my bio
Dewey was a good boy. For the past 14 years, he looked as regal as he does in this picture. Yesterday, Dewey began his adventure into the great unknown. I will miss him.
