Applications for the 2026 Community Safety Fund now open!

The annual fund allows for the proceeds of crime, seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) and An Garda Síochána, to be redirected into local projects that support and enhance community safety.
This year’s fund totalling €4.75 million is an increase since the initial allocation of €2 million in 2022.

The Dublin Northwest LCSP were represented at Go Purple day, an initiative between An Garda Siochana and domestic abuse services nationwide to help raise awareness about domestic abuse, and local services and supports available to those affected.

To celebrate Climate Action and Biodiversity Week the Finglas Area Office Community Development and Public Domain teams presented the very first “Finglas Greening Festival”, on Wednesday13th May.
Hi-lighting the amazing work of environmental, sustainable, and circular economy programmes and groups in the Finglas Area. Showcasing some small changes in how we all relate to food, waste, water, energy, and skills and resource sharing can make a big difference to the Community.
Workshops included;
🥕 Growing sustainable plants for biodiversity and small garden vegetable planting
🌿 Composting Workshops
🖌️ Furniture upcycling
This was a family friendly event, with kids activities, some green giveaways, and freebies to help start a sustainability journey. The Big Prize-Wheel was a great success with everyone leaving with a sustainable prize.
A special thanks to all the contributors on the day, as well as all who attended making the first Finglas Greening Festival a great success.

A fantastic day of cycling, learning, and fun in Ballymun!
The Ballymun Community Team, alongside Dublin City Council’s Sports and Wellbeing Section, recently hosted a cycling safety event at Seven Heroes Square for local students.
Students from Scoil an tSeachtar Laoch, Virgin Mary Girls School, Gaelscoil Bhaile Munna, and Our Lady of Victories Boys School, Trinity Comprehensive, took part in an engaging day focused on bike safety and skills.
From thrilling bike demonstrations by Fireride to hands-on cycling activities, students gained valuable safety knowledge while having a great time in a safe, supervised environment.
A brilliant day all around - well done to everyone involved! 👏🚲
