This October, the 13th edition of the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF) turns its lens on Cairo. We are are initiating an observation. The city, its stories, its people, and its art; all become part of a shared, unfolding narrative.
This is an invitation to see, and to be seen.

The observation is complete. Over 26 days, D-CAF’s 13th edition unfolded across the heart of the city — every space turning into a moment of discovery, every performance a chapter in a story we wrote together.
What began as observation became connection, and what was once fleeting is now recorded — a shared memory of art, presence, and resilience.
This may be the end of this mission, but not the last. Thank you to everyone who shaped this narrative with us. Until next year, when new stories begin.

This year's Arab Arts Focus was a testament to the power of our diverse voices, each one an act of resilience, each one a form of resistance. And with the support of the British Council, and their IN BETWEEN platform these voices didn't just speak; they claimed their space, shaping a new and unapologetic future for our culture.
We're still here.

🎵 Impressions from Solħ - Audio Installation by Nancy Mounir.
For this audio installation,@mounirnancy immersed herself in her archive material, which is geographically dispersed and chronologically distant, yet she draws on the communality and harmony she hears in their depths.
The voices come from South Africa all the way to New Guinea, passing through Bulgaria, Morocco, and Egypt. In this video, we are looking back at the audiovisual journey that Nancy Mounir invited the audience to experience.
