Tasting en primeur is less about reaching a verdict and more about reading the potential. The 2025 vintage is generating real anticipation. Our Wine of the Week 🍷 Dolomite Cabernet Franc, Raats Family Wines, Stellenbosch, 2022 Cabernet Franc rarely demands attention, but it always rewards those who give it. Raats Family Wines embraces a modern winemaking approach, using gentler extraction and focusing on elegance to preserve bright, expressive fruit. In the glass, expect vibrant red cherry layered with smoky black fruit, finishing on a savoury, herbal edge. A benchmark expression of contemporary South African style, it’s fruit-driven, approachable, and ready to drink now. While Cabernet Franc often plays a supporting role in Bordeaux blends, here it takes centre stage and does so beautifully. Perfect paired with herb-crusted roast lamb or slow-cooked Mediterranean dishes.
