Today Daniel @dbeijar gifted me the photographs he took on film in the winter of 2025 on the the third anniversary of russia’s war against Ukraine, as well as at the open-air Fishermen’s Museum.

I’m deeply grateful to Daniel for his friendship, understanding, and heartfelt support for Ukraine and Ukrainians. His kindness, these photos, and the beautiful brooch his mother gave me will forever remain a symbol of the Finnish people’s solidarity with us, Ukrainians.
Some memories are too precious not to keep here.

Photo experiment from the summer: old, old camera with old, old glass plates and old, old photographic paper.
Results: Glass plates are a little dark, but contact copied on too ultra high contrast paper it worked well!

Caffecolor, or color pictures using only Caffenol developer.
How it's made:
1. The full color picture.
2. Three photographs of the same object is taken on black&white film, each picture through one seperate filter: one picture with red, one green and blue.
3. The camera film is developed in a Caffenol developer made with sodium carbonate, ascorbic acid or vitamin C and instant coffee.
The negative is then contact copied on to 35mm print film and developed in the same Caffenol developer.
4. The three b&w slides are then projected with three projectors one each with the same red, green and blue filters that was used when each picture was taken.
5. When the slides are projected on top of each other, through the filters, a full color picure is formed with using only b&w film developed in eco friendly Caffenol developer!
