Decided to go through my postcards on this #internationalwomensday and pick out some of my favourites. I look at these portraits and wonder what was going through the mind of the sitter. I’ve made up many a story!

Christmas project finished. Been meaning to make this for years! Idea came from a similar tree that I saw in a charity shop but they wouldn’t sell it. The “jewels” came from our Booty Box, so named because it contains all the jewellery Jim’s found on our street while litter picking each day for years now. #christmascraft #makeyourowndecorations

Bill the flower stall man usually has a couple of trees left on Christmas Eve - the odd looking ones that nobody wants. And Jim will never say no to a free tree. So this is my Christmas dishes view each evening out the kitchen window. #christmas #christmastree

Eve’s Pudding a la plum instead. And on a massive scale. #lidl boxes repeatedly serving up plums that you were never going to eat as the raw fruit. But stewed…..another story! #pudding #cantbeatbakedpuds #plumcake #bake

Corner shelves looking quiet #vintage ! Next door’s apples sitting very comfortably on the bottom shelf. Think I’ll have to eat them today having photographed them - too tasty to leave any longer. Thank you neighbours. Dx

#pesto day. Bit late but last month was a bit nuts. The smell of fresh basil and garlic is a-mazing. Plants grown among the veg outside. A @Lidl pot of basil separated out and grown as individual plants. @themontydon recipe never fails. And as he says when you eat this in the middle of winter it’s like summer bursting in again. I would never have guessed that homemade pesto would outshine shop bought as much as this.

Couple of days away in a beautiful autumnal #somerset . Wonderful stay @the_pig_hotels near Bath. The chillies were a gift from Oliver who just showed us round their amazing kitchen garden - thanks Oliver.
