Day Violins is proud to celebrate a major milestone. 🎉 This month, three of our instructors are graduating from George Mason University — Estefany, Akansha, and Jade.
We have had the privilege of watching each of them grow not only as musicians, but as thoughtful, dedicated educators inside our studios. Their commitment to their craft and to their students reflects exactly what we value at Day Violins.
Graduation is an achievement worth recognizing — but for us, the real celebration is the impact they are already making in the lives of young musicians. We are incredibly proud of you three and excited to see where your talent, training, and heart take you next.

The freedom we have to meet with elected officials and speak about topics that make this world a better place. That’s the power of advocacy. I come to speak for the children, the parents, the teachers, the ones who need us to help. I share stories and give facts. I listen, I ask, I agree and I state more facts when I don’t agree.

Spring is recital season at Day Violins.
There is something powerful about watching students step on stage — prepared, focused, and proud of the work they’ve put in. Our Spring Recitals are more than performances. They’re milestones. Growth moments. Confidence builders. From first-time performers to advanced players refining their artistry, every recital tells a story of progress.

Day 4
See and hear for yourself! The pit orchestra playing, the actors singing their hearts out, the standing ovation, the final bow for seniors…all of it! This is why I advocate for the arts!
When we advocate for the arts we always advocate for full funding. We know that children have different interests and abilities, access and talent. Full funding allows for access to quality music education and enables students to explore their interests and build strong foundations in the arts.
And the process is so much fun! It might be my 5,000th instrument petting zoo, but it’s their first. And that’s what matters!
At @dayviolins we love seeing the process, the joy, the happiness and excitement. We love to see the students and teachers succeed! We advocate for the end result, but we love the process!
Meet Akanksha Padheriya, a tier 3 instructor for the violin and piano. Akanksha brings both heart and high-level skill to the lesson room. Graduating this month from George Mason University with a B.A. in Music (Pedagogy) and a B.S. in Business (Management Information Systems), she blends artistry and structure in a way that truly supports student growth.
An active performer with the GMU Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Ensembles, Akanksha understands what it means to make music collaboratively — and she brings that same energy into every lesson.
Her teaching style? Empathetic. Adaptable. Focused. She builds strong technical foundations, encourages musical expression, and helps students develop real confidence — not just in their playing, but in themselves.
Now accepting violin and piano students.
Availability: Monday: 3–5 pm | Tuesday: 4:30–5 pm | Wednesday: 3–3:30 pm, 4:30–5 pm
