Last night - April 8 - WPRA Barrel Racer Carlee Otero and 10X PRCA World Champion Stetson Wright was honored at the Utah State of Sport Banquet in Salt Lake City. They were honored as the Utah Pioneer Week Top Hands from 2025 - meaning out of all the contestants who competed at the rodeos in Salt Lake City, Ogden and Spanish Fork during Pioneer Week they were the top female and male money earners. They received a bonus check for $15,000 each along with trophy stirrups from Sheridan Buckle Company. Joining them on stage were Miss Rodeo America, Miss Rodeo Utah and representatives from the three rodeos. Congrats to both of them and can't wait to see who wins this award in 2026 during the week of July 20-25. The Women's Professional Rodeo Association PRCA ProRodeo Miss Rodeo America @sheridanbuckleco

I’m so honored to receive the 2025 Utah Pioneer Week Top Hand Award as the top-earning female athlete across Utah rodeos. Last year was uncertain after Sly’s injury, but I trusted God’s plan and He gave us Regina George. 🤍 She stepped up in a big way, especially at the @daysof47rodeo , setting the arena record and winning gold. Like I told @calamityjanie , I always knew she was good, but she’s proven to be great.

Today we hear from Chezlie Langston on what the Utah Cowgirl Collective program has meant to her. The UCC has had an impact on me through all the people I have met. At the beginning of the program I said I wanted to be genuine with everyone I crossed paths with. I loved meeting people and hearing their stories. I’m so thankful for all UCC has done for me. Think you have what it takes to fill Chezlie's boots for 2026, then apply today at utahcowgirlcollective.com.

The Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo is currently looking for 6 young ladies from Utah, Idaho or Wyoming to join the Utah Cowgirl Collective family as the Class of 2026. Each cowgirl will commit to a yearlong worth of service to help the community, educate the youth on the western lifestyle, promote connection, kinship and cowgirl grit to all women. Making this program unique is that the ladies can be single or married. Meet Morgan (Peterson) from Morgan (Utah) who this past year was able to juggle work life at Warrior Rizen Ranch, married life and being a mom to a beautiful daughter. "UCC has been such a meaningful program to be part of," noted Morgan. "It connected me with incredible women in this industry who truly love what they do. Teaching younger girls about our lifestyle has helped me appreciate it so much more. I’m deeply grateful for the friendships and excited for what’s ahead." Applications currently open. Link in bio
