It’s been exactly one month since @dayoffgrp was named a James Beard Semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur, and the pride hasn’t worn off. Huge congratulations to Kara, Frank, Joe, and Steven. It’s an honor to see the work behind Rose Mary, il Carciofo, Bar Tutto, and BLVD Steakhouse recognized on this level. We’re just getting started.

WE’RE BACK! One of my favorite events of the year and @dianalachef and I are honored to co-chair Chicago’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry for the 7th year. We are bringing together over 55 amazing chef and mixologist friends for one night only. If you know the West Loop….this is where you actually eat. Bar Tutto by Top Chef winner Joe Flamm is one of the most dialed-in restaurants in Chicago right now. Not trendy for the sake of it. Not overcomplicated. Just really good Italian food, executed at a high level. Here’s exactly what to order: 🍝 Rigatoni (pasta alla gricia) – guanciale, pecorino, black pepper. No cream, no shortcuts. Silky, peppery, perfectly emulsified. This is old-school Rome done right. 🥩 Bavette steak – deeply seared, super beefy, finished with peperonata that cuts through the richness. Fries + smoked garlic aioli are non-negotiable. 🍔 BT Burger – wood-fired, smoky, juicy. Provolone piccante, smoked onions, mustard pickles. Balanced, flavorful, elite. 🥕 Roasted carrot salad – jammy carrots, broccolini, date vinaigrette, burrata, pistachio, orzo. Sweet, savory, creamy, crunchy…sleeper hit on the menu.
