Daybreak Studio is sunsetting after 5 years of spirited service. Our interdisciplinary work was a commitment to our own curiosities. To questions, ideas and interests that compelled us to create. We've made many things over the years. Each approached with renewed interest and ambition. This studio was a place for bright minds, kind hearts and strenuous hands. We compounded our knowledge and sharpened each other through our shared ideals and aspirations. We're proud of what we've created, grateful for the trust our clients placed in us, and humbled by the recognition and generosity of the community that surrounded our work. Daybreak Studio is sunsetting to focus on the same premise that led to its founding: to bring technology closer to people. We need to step beyond the consultancy model to truly commit to this mission. We need to unify our effort and bring the same solicitude to a singular, focused pursuit. We need to build technology of our own. As this day ends, another begins. Thank you for everything 🤍

Published today: A new (or rather, old) approach to typography on the web. Typography is still one of design's most overlooked tools within the web and digital products. It's too often reduced to a tidy set of tokens and ratios built to ship fast. But no formula is universal. Different products, with different constraints, demand systems that are tailored to their context. With Atlas, we designed a type system that lives beyond measurement. It rests on the eye: human perception, balance, and the subtle adjustments that quick calculations can’t account for. It’s a system that knows its place: typography in service of meaning, not convenience. Link to the full case study in our bio!

It’s back to school season! Over the break, we did a little summer reading and took a page from local classrooms to design a playful educational quiz for Uniswap’s Singaporean presence. Doodles in the margins, teacher’s markings, and a final report card… Study up and get your grade (link in bio)!

In the rapidly evolving landscape of AI development, where prompt engineering sits at the intersection of technical precision and creative experimentation, Adaline has carved out a distinctive position. The platform enables cross-functional teams to build and deploy LLM-powered applications, supporting the full lifecycle of AI development from rapid iteration to production-scale monitoring. When the company approached Toronto-based @daybreakstudio , they possessed strong early traction but needed a unified design system that could reflect the depth and possibility of their product while scaling with their users over time. Read the complete case study at our link in bio. ——— CREDITS Graphic Design: @daybreakstudio Typography: Akkurat by @lineto_com

Tools shape thought, and thought shapes tools. The process of designing product for Adaline mirrored the very work it enables: collaborative, iterative, and always prompted for what comes next. From contextual action menus to progressive disclosure, every piece was shaped around real usage and real complexity. In the end, it’s an interface that meets where they are, and evolves as they do. Brand Identity for Adaline Drawing from biophilic spaces, the identity cultivates a grounded presence within the practice of prompt engineering. Typography balances clarity with character, the colour palette reflects the interplay of light and life, and the art direction layers tactile textures into the interface to create a tangible sense of place. Together, these elements shape an intentional environment that invites creativity and encourages thoughtful exploration, embracing the organic, winding paths of invention. Full case study in bio.

New website for @dropbox x @mclaren . From the pit wall to the systems that keep it all moving, racing is a team sport. We designed a site that keeps pace with the story it tells: where every decision matters and every millisecond counts. Here, Dropbox Dash becomes the teammate behind the scenes, helping McLaren stay in sync through race days and campaign rollouts alike. Because speed is nothing without precision, coordination, or trust. Take it for a spin… link in bio!

Adaline’s site marked a new chapter in our quest to reimagine scroll-driven animation. Building on what we started with Superpower, we pushed the limits of image sequences, moving beyond MP4s to engineer a system that delivers both fidelity and performance. Using techniques like binary space partitioning and dynamic quality rendering, we slowly rebuilt the entire pipeline. Every detail was designed and engineered to make the most out of every frame. We approached Adaline as a landscape: a layered, evolving place for thought to root and stretch. Over the past year, we’ve worked with their team to define the brand, shape the end-to-end product experience, and design a website that introduces it all with intention. We’re starting by sharing this site: a space that reflects the nature of the tool, living between language and logic, and composed for clarity and calm. More to come soon. In the meantime, explore the site at Adaline.ai (link in bio).

For Uniswap’s long-awaited announcements with Monad and Soneium, we imagined the moments when two neighbouring worlds collide. Here are two animations we made that pay homage to the new friendship, and a glimpse into the star-studded process work of bringing them to life.
