At the Good Ads Matter Chief Creative Officers Roundtable, Vishal Dayama @dayamaged , Founder, Writer & Director at Braindad @braindad.co , shared the story behind the viral Gukesh and Vishy Anand ad for FWD by Myntra.
He recalled how the brand approached them with a brief for FWD, Myntra’s Gen Z vertical, under tight constraints. With just 10 days to shoot and a low budget, the team had to move fast.
After the idea was conceptualised and approved, he also shared how they convinced Vishwanatan Anand to come on board with the idea.
His takeaway from this experience is that when an idea is strong enough, it has the ability to open up budgets—one should never hold back while writing an idea.
