Last year (after years of invitations bordering on bullying) I made the decision to finally boot over to Adelaide for Froth and Fury festival The deciding factor that made THAT my year? The opportunity to shoot Day of Contempt After more than 25 years on regular rotation they're still one of my favourite bands Understandably - they still go SO hard Being asked to cover a few of the Melbourne shows this year was a no brainer, seriously, what photographer wouldn't want to hang out with one of their favourites for a couple of days, especially now knowing that they're awesome humans (even if one of them does seem to actively avoid the light while bouncing around like a rabbit on speed and there ARE 3 photographers in the band - no pressure guys 🙄) I think I laughed at the fact it was posed as a question So this thing happens when I'm shooting a band I know - different types of shots - I'm not looking for the big rockstar poses anymore but the people that make them - the real moments, hidden grins, breaths in between breakdowns and glimpses of the personalities that are usually kept private Anyway that's a lot of words Ever grateful for the opportunity to capture a moment with beautiful people Thank you 🙏🏽🫶🏽 . . . @day_of_contempt at @staygoldmelbourne 24 October 2025
