A brief moment in “Fallen Tree”, an excerpt of choreography from José Limón’s “The Unsung”.
I am beyond proud to be a part of the first all women/non-binary cast of this master work! Sharing the stage with this group of trailblazing artists has filled me with strength and gratitude. We poured our hearts into every moment of this residency. Thank you @kdmovinlive and @lstanz25 for giving us the space to do so. I couldn’t think of a better way to end these 4 years in Boston.
I first met Ekko as a student—now I’m honored to commission her first work with Lam Dance Works as an emerging Choreographer. A true full-circle moment.
“Month Eight” by Ekko Greenbaum premieres May 15 & 16 at the Emerson Paramount Center.
Brooklyn-based choreographer and Boston Conservatory graduate, Ekko has collaborated with artists including Aszure Barton and Celia Rowlson-Hall, with work presented at 92NY and beyond. In 2025, she co-founded eni artist collective, continuing to shape bold, human-centered dance.
Don’t miss this powerful new voice.

I am having such a good time evolving as a teacher who choreographs; learning how to offer a blueprint and a point of view, but also a choice and an interpretation. I love watching these three dance together and I love what you can discern from them as individuals as well. I’m so proud of the work ethic coming from these 2 hour classes late at night. I feel really seen and respected by my students and so so inspired to return that investment
As you’re forming opinions about what you see online, I hope to include the context of learning. These dancers learned something completely new to them, steps and instructions; and they breathed their life into it with sincerity. I am proud to share that process rather than call it a product or even content. I hope you read this caption in good faith because we are sharing ourselves in the goodest of faith; regardless of the cameras involvement
