MY DEBUT BOOK āThrough the Glassā IS NOW AVAILABLE! Orders through the link in my Bio and ready for immediate dispatch worldwide.
A project 7 years in the making and born out of my love for capturing people authentically, Through the Glass is a collection of my candid street portrait work from 2018-2025. When I started this book I knew above all else that I wanted it to be exclusive and premium so Iāve produced just 250 copies and used the highest quality materials.
Deepest thanks to legend @seantuck for writing me the most beautiful foreword. Iām forever grateful to you Sean. I knew you were a talented writer but this knocked me sideways, itās simply stunning. šš»
Sincere and heartfelt thanks to the people who are featured in this book, not everybody in it will know of course BUT the people I encounter on my travels with my camera never fail to amaze me with their grace and kindness and these images mean an awful lot to me.
And last but not least, thank you to all of you. This book is dedicated to every single one of you who has followed me, supported me and shown me warmth and encouragement through the years. I am certain I would not have reached this milestone and created a book Iām so very proud of without you! I hope you like it! D š

Through the Glass, the debut book by British Street Photographer Dawn Eagleton. Celebrated for her candid portraiture, Dawn captures the quiet beauty found in everyday life through the expressions, gestures and mannerisms of her subjects.
It was a pleasure to work with Dawn bringing this body of work into book form, designed in house by Digitronix, printed by Lyxbok.
āI went to Lyxbok because I wanted to produce a book that was premium quality and needed a team that I could collaborate with closely to bring my ideas to life. I had a lot of specific details and they were extremely helpful in turning them into a reality. I was particularly pleased about being able to collaborate with Molly, a talented young female designer on the cover and layout. I am really happy with the results and have had so many fantastic compliments on the project.ā - Dawn Eagleton

Image 35 called āWorking Lunchā from Through the Glass is the first photo here, before she fully realised I was taking her photo. The second is her reaction to seeing me with my camera. What a beautiful soul! ā¤ļø

Image 23: The Matrix, Through the Glass.
When I started properly working on my debut book last year, this was one of three cover choices I had narrowed down. Ultimately I decided on another photograph for reasons I canāt really remember now but I guess it was just meant to be! šš

Image 11: Lost Without You.
One of the loveliest things to come out of the release of my book Through the Glass was all of the beautiful feedback I received. More specifically, the layout of the book assigns numbers and captions to each image and so often, I receive messages from people who purchased the book telling me what numbers are their favourite. It means I am often at my book shelf leafing through it in anticipation to see which image is assigned to that particular number. They are always different! But this image definitely rated highly with you. Thank you for taking the time to tell me, it really means a lot. D x

A series of three almost identical photographs of this gentleman to illustrate how a subtle change in expression can change the whole feeling or narrative of the image. I had originally put the first image forward for my Through the Glass book, (presumably I favoured this version at the time, not sure between 1 and 2 now š) but it didnāt fit in anywhere in the end so it didnāt make the cut! But I still love it.
Sometimes people ask me if I ever use continuous shooting mode to ensure I get the right expression. I donāt ever use it, these are just three singular shots fired off. Everybody works differently but Iāve personally never found it necessary in these scenarios. Plus I definitely couldnāt cope with the amount of images I would have to look through on the edit. I think it would send me mad trying to pick the right one from the minute differences š

Image 60: The Partyās Over. I made two images of this gentleman. When I saw him looking pensive from across the street, I managed to approach him without him seeing me and secure the first image. Then, as he looked up to see what I was doing stood in front of him I clicked the shutter a second time, just as he made eye contact. The second version made it into my book Through the Glass but I still donāt know which one is my favourite.
