Davis showed its pride over the weekend with a Disco Skate Party on Saturday and the Davis Pride Festival on Sunday, in coordination with the Davis Craft and Vintage Market, both in Central Park. The festival included music, crafts, food and fun. The Davis Phoenix Coalition plans another Pride Month event on June 25: a Ride with Pride with Bike Party Davis, honoring the late Cathy Speck. Cyclists and their decked-out bikes will meet at Central Park, 401 C St., at 6 p.m.

Davis High held its first of two in-person graduation ceremonies Thursday night. Keynote speakers at the event talked about the #classof2021’s resiliency, finishing high school during the pandemic.

Tristan Samalley of Davis Boy Scout Troop 66 places a flag at the grave site of a fallen World War II veteran Friday, in honor of Memorial Day. Samalley was one of dozens of local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts that visited the Davis Cemetery to place American flags at the graves of more than 100 veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
