Now I’ve had time to reflect on the last week…
From my back support breaking in Boston — when I knew I was in great shape — to the disappointment that followed… it’s been a rollercoaster.
Landing at Heathrow on Tuesday morning, then driving all the way to Switzerland to get it fixed, turning straight back around to be ready for my 27th London Marathon… it was never going to be easy.
But I told myself one thing: I had to finish on that podium. No matter what.
What I didn’t realise until now… that was my 22nd time finishing on the podium at London and PB the last time I did a PB on this course was 20 years ago💪
I’m incredibly proud of that.
And more than anything, I’m grateful — to my wife, family and friends who’ve stood by me through every high and low. This journey wouldn’t be possible without you ❤️ @kask_sport

“I did my own race. I get into my own rhythm and start thinking of the training and people telling me things in my head.”
David Weir finishes third in the capital, in what was his 27th consecutive London Marathon 🇬🇧
He clocked 1:29:23 after facing mechanical difficulties earlier on this week in Boston ⚡️

Third place in London for Weir 💪
In his 27th consecutive London Marathon, David Weir makes the wheelchair podium as he clocks 1:29:23 for third place 🇬🇧
He completes the podium alongside Luo Xingchuan (1:28:46) and Marcel Hug (1:24:13) who equalled Weir’s record of eight London Marathon wins 🔥
It's been a busy few days for David Weir after a technical fault in Boston, which led to a 1,000-mile detour so that he could be here in London at a race that he has very fond memories of.
Happy St George’s Day 🏴
Proud to be English — built on grit, courage, and standing tall when it counts. No fuss, no noise, just strength, resilience, and pride that runs deep.
We don’t shout about it — we show it.
Here’s to St George, to tradition, and to the spirit that never backs down. 🏴
