I sucked. The laughs were thin and the silence deadly. But I truly fell in love with it.
So I’m going to try and get good in 1 year. It’s supposed to take 7-10 years to get decent. But Im 45 and I cant wait that long.
To help with the quest I’m launching a podcast. Its called Starting Standup with David Walton. (Hat tip to @almadrigal for the name)
I’m going to build a standup set in public. Humilate myself, get weird, try to educate and entertain you along the way. Think of the podcast like an audio journal of my midlife crisis where you get to listen to me crash into a firey ball of shame.
Im excited and having lots of fun despite waking up with occasional night terrors. Love to have you along for the ride and giving honest feedback etc.
