This post is dedicated to all the people who believed in me and my dream of becoming a professional snowboard photographer.
My young career peaked last week when I got the chance to be an official photographer at the Laax Open, working for
@fisparkandpipe â¨Iâm still in disbelief that this really happened.
Growing up, I was a snowboarder and always watched the big contests live onlineâover and over again. My favourite one? Laax. I always dreamed of going there and witnessing it live.â¨Now one of my biggest dreams has come true. Actually, two of them. I wasnât just watching this crazy week go downâI was part of it.
From long days shooting photos, short nights, a lot of shit talking, working until I fell asleep, getting sunburnt, realising Switzerland is too expensive to get drunk, or almost shitting my pants while taking portraits of Eileen GuâI was there, and I loved every second of it.
I met so many amazing people: athletes, judges, photographers, filmers, CEOs, volunteers, strangers, and so many more. I canât really describe how much this week meant to me, both as a photographer and as a person.
Becoming a professional photographer these days isnât easy, and itâs definitely not fun all the timeâespecially when self-doubt and negative thoughts get in my way. Itâs not a highway from A to B; itâs more like a fucked-up gravel road where no one really knows where itâs heading.
I donât know exactly where Iâm heading right now or what comes next. I just know itâs the right direction.
I want to thank everyone who ever believed in me or supported me, reached out, liked or reacted to my stories, or took care of me and made all of this possible. Every single thing means so much to me and keeps me chasing this dream.
I love you all. Legends.
Just remember:â¨Never stop & never quit.
