It was an honour to attend the ceremonial signing marking Ontario’s affiliate membership with the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) in Toronto. This is an important step in strengthening the relationship between Ontario and our American partners. Ontario and the United States share deep connections through history, families, trade, and culture, and this new partnership opens the door to greater collaboration and shared learning between legislators on both sides. Looking forward to the opportunities this relationship will create in the years ahead.

Proud to announce in Scarborough today alongside @arisbabikianmpp that the Ontario government is investing up to $195,000 in Settlement Assistance and Family Support Services through the Civil Remedies Grant Program. This funding will support The Shield Program, a pilot initiative focused on supporting girls aged 10 to 18 who may be vulnerable to human trafficking, including youth from racialized, Indigenous, newcomer, and LGBTQ2S+ communities. The program will provide counselling, legal and housing support, and educational programming aimed at prevention and awareness. Our government is committed to supporting prevention-based initiatives that help protect vulnerable youth, strengthen community safety, and provide families with the support they need. Through the 2026–28 Civil Remedies Grant Program, Ontario is investing $5 million from cash and proceeds seized from criminals to help law enforcement agencies, Indigenous organizations, and community partners fight crime and support victims across the province.

This National Nursing Week, we celebrate the nurses who show up every day with compassion, strength, and care for our communities. Our government continues to invest in strengthening Ontario’s healthcare workforce, including expanding nursing education with funding to support 2,000 additional registered nurse seats and 1,000 registered practical nurse seats across Ontario colleges and universities. The 2026 Ontario Budget also includes over $1.1 billion in additional hospital funding and investments to expand home and community care services across the province. I would like to say a big thank you to all the Nurses in Scarborough Centre and across Ontario for the long hours, the sacrifices, and the incredible difference you make in people’s lives. We appreciate you today and every day. #NationalNursingWeek #ThankYouNurses

It was a pleasure attending the TOGA Spring Harvest Reception at Queen’s Park and connect with members of Ontario’s greenhouse sector. Ontario growers play an important role in supporting our economy, creating jobs, and providing fresh, high-quality products to communities across the province.

Had the pleasure of attending the Nepalese Blood Donors Association (NBDA) Canada’s 4th Annual General Meeting and Donors Appreciation Day. It was wonderful to see so many dedicated volunteers, donors, and community members being recognized for the life changing impact they make through blood donation and community service. I would like to thank the NBDA Canada for bringing people together around such an important cause and for the incredible work they continue to do in our community.

Attended the 10th Annual Send a Kid to Camp event hosted by the Salvation Army in Scarborough Centre, a meaningful initiative that gives children from underserved communities the chance to enjoy a safe, fun, and unforgettable camp experience. Each year, I am proud to support the Salvation Army and this incredible program because every child deserves the opportunity to build confidence, make memories, and simply enjoy being a kid. Congratulations on 10 years of changing lives and bringing joy to so many young people and families in our community. #SalvationArmy #SendAKidToCamp #Community #ScarboroughCentre #GivingBack Youth SupportFamilies

Today, we celebrate the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures whose love, strength, and sacrifice shape our families and communities every single day. A mother’s care is one of life’s greatest gifts. The lessons they teach, the support they give, and the love they share leave a lasting impact that stays with us always. Wishing all mothers in Scarborough Centre and across Ontario a beautiful Mother’s Day filled with love and appreciation. Thank you for all that you do. #happymothersday
