What a great way to spend Sunday morning with Jo and my family. Huge credit to Shamim and the team for organising yet another brilliant event.
In the North we’re ambitious.
We want to host the Olympics and you know what- we will do it.
What started as an idea from Northern Mayors that raised eyebrows in London now has the backing of Government and is rapidly turning into a plan.
Next step - the first ever Government feasibility study to show the North can host the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Never tell the North we should settle for anything less than world class.
Why is men’s mental health such a priority for the Mayor of York and North Yorkshire?
Because too many men are still struggling silently — especially in rural communities where support can be harder to access.
That’s why we’re proud to be working with the @davidskaith Mayor’s Office to bring the Menfulness approach to Malton this summer.
A community-led space focused on improving men’s mental and physical wellbeing, connection and support — right at the heart of the town.

Menfulness is coming to Malton.
We’re proud to announce that, thanks to funding from the Mayor’s Men’s Mental Health Fund, Menfulness will soon be bringing our unique approach to men’s mental health support to Malton.
Too many men still struggle in silence. This funding allows us to create a local offer focused on connection, conversation, purpose and support.
We’re hugely grateful for the support of @davidskaith — a Mayor who has consistently led with openness and honesty about his own mental health journey and the importance of reaching out for this kind of support.
It was fantastic to spend time in Malton with David discussing what this could become for local men and the wider community.
This is just the beginning.
We’re now looking for the right person to help us shape the Menfulness offer in Malton. If that could be you — or someone you know — we’d love to hear from you.

What a great night at York Fashion Week last Friday! I’m incredibly proud that my High Street Fund helped to put on one of the biggest shows yet, highlighting indie talent from across the country. Huge credit to York Museums Trust for providing an incredibly backdrop.
