We Won’t Back Down is a narrative nonfiction account of the Brent Spar occupation, where Greenpeace activists took on Shell in a high-stakes confrontation that sparked global protest and forced a corporate giant to change course. Told by the photographer embedded inside the action, the book captures the reality of life on the structure—risk, isolation, and media pressure—while weaving in the personal relationships and tensions unfolding behind the lens. Set in a pre-digital world on the cusp of modern environmental activism, it reveals both the human story and the defining moment that proved public pressure could reshape corporate decisions This is an early cover concept using one of my images from the time.
