some production design bts from ‘the shirt off your back’: this film lived in a world as experienced by the characters of eden and blye, like a real but fallible childhood memory, with threat sitting on the edge of innocence it needed to feel as true to life as possible while also carrying deeper subliminal cues - so we designed & shot around a restrained palette of colours as ‘memory tags’, alongside tactile haptic textures, to reflect how children actually remember the world: in primary colours, sensations & fragments. the flowers you see in the film were actually curated by the team to seem naturally occurring in Budgewoi on the Central Coast of NSW, assembled with @myflowwwer_ at @bess_paddington , and re-installed on location with the help of @gremlin_xcx & @joshuamehmet last slides are of the van, scenic’ed and dressed to feel everyday, but also to suggest that maybe jeffrey dahmer has been sitting there for years. thanks for watching - @aacta voting for best short film closes this monday 🚲
